Perfect hotel to visit Cambridge. Lovely cosy atmosphere, beautiful and symbolic architecture and interior design, wonderful and helpful staff - particularly Luca and Liliana who went above and beyond to ensure a fantastic stay - excellent spa and gym facilities, stunning views of River Cam, a great selection of Nespresso coffee capsules, biscuits and tea in the room which was an excellent touch, and a beautiful bar and lounge area with a fireplace. The only hotel in town that I would recommend to stay at for a relaxing and an authentic and enjoyable experience.

Get ready to feel the magic of sleeping at a Cambridge college! From the main entrance's amazing layout to the welcoming check-in, followed by a delightful short walk across the gardens to my room.. it was amazing from the start. It is the perfect accommodation if you are travelling for work purposes, the room is well thought out (I stayed in a single ensuite room), great layout with plenty of natural light, faces the Darwin garden, comfy bed and pillows, and functional desk. There is a communal small kitchen area, where you can use the fridge. I stayed for 3 nights during summer holidays, so it was quiet (something I truly appreciated). The bathroom was compact but functional. It is central, with plenty of supermarkets/restaurants/stores within walking distance. I slept wonderfully! The room was always superbly tidy (thank you, Wendy!) All staff is smiley and easy to talk to! I slept wonderfully! If I return to Cambridge, I will definitely try to stay here again!

FAQs about hotels in Cambridge

The Inspiration for Genius

Open-plan and open-minded, Cambridge is best known for university colleges dating to the 13th century. King’s College is the most popular, and its chapel choir is internationally famous. Although accessed from cobbled King’s Parade, it is best viewed from a punt on The Backs, the part of the River Cam behind.

Cambridge punting is an institution and gives great views of Queen’s College Mathematical Bridge and the Bridge of Sighs at St John’s College. Upstream is Jesus Green, site of an outdoor pool and a fantastic beer festival. Next to this is Midsummer Common, a park home to the annual Strawberry Fair (and the occasional cow). Opposite are the college boathouses - get up early to see the rowers in action!

Cows also roam the Mill Pond meadow, where the river leads south to Grantchester, a quaint village with a lovely cafe. Places to eat in Cambridge include riverside restaurants and typical English pubs like The Eagle, drinking hole of DNA founders Watson & Crick.

Cambridge shopping options include a daily market (in Market Square), the Grafton Centre and the exclusive Grand Arcade, the latest addition. The Scott Polar Museum and free Fitzwilliam Museum are 2 of many fantastic Cambridge museums.

Stansted Airport is connected by train to the city’s accommodation choices on Booking.com.

Used the park and ride which was perfect, except, it finishes to early , and didn’t run to a decent time on New Years Eve , finished at 8.30 . Do they realize each bus saves 75 vehicles, Cambridge is very interesting, lots of interesting buildings, loads of food venues, and a great choice in the market of street vendor foods , lots of Asian and Japanese restaurants, great pubs , went to the oldest pub in Cambridge, walked along the river, watched the boaters , had a very pleasant visit, and would also recommend a visit to Newmarket,

Came to visit the Egyptian exhibition at the Fitzwilliam, which was excellent, as expected of them. Loads of good independent shops that less wealthy cities no longer have. Good choice of proper pubs for people our age (75-ish). Too many cafe's and restaurants to choose from! Local busses very good too - as long as one remembers to bring the bus pass!!

A great walking city except for kamikaze ebike and delivery riders , you have to watch your back! Beautiful buildings, lots to see and plenty of great shops, both chain and independent. Lots of lovely cafes, restaurants and pubs. Visitors should definitely book to go into Kings College Chapel - it's an astonishing building.

Cambridge is a great place for a long weekend.

Cambridge is a great place for a long weekend. There are plenty of places to eat and lots of quirky shops. There’s also a great open air market at the weekend. Everything is walkable. A punt on the river is an experience. We stayed at the Graduate which is a great place to stay for central Cambridge. I would not recommend eating at the Mill. This was unfortunately a very poor experience.

I have been to Cambridge about 6 times in the last couple of years. A couple of times with my partner and then with my friend for short mid week breaks. We love Cambridge. Its an hour from where we live. Shopping centre lovely. Great restaurants and pubs. Feel safe walking about. Enjoyed the punting, uni buildings and history of Cambridge. Always a very relaxing restful stay. All hotels we have stayed in have been wonderful.

I had to come to Cambridge by car and this was a perfect location for me: I could leave the car there and get the 3 bus from outside the hotel straight to appointments in the city centre. (Better than Park and Ride!) Staff very helpful: they lent me an HDMI cable so I could use the in-room TV as a second screen for a Zoom meeting. Good, freshly cooked breakfast with vegetarian options, and the on-site Italian restaurant was perfect for a meal at the end of a long day.

Really, there is no reason to go to a hotel in Cambridge if options like this exist! Sure, the rooms are merely college dorm standard, functional at best, but the College itself is one of the most gorgeous locations I've ever stayed in, the staff is friendly, and breakfast is a decent array of traditional English options. Who needs a modern king-sized bed if they can stay in the very building John Milton studied??

Lovely boutique hotel close to the centre of Cambridge. I am very fond of this place, which I have visited frequently during the last ten years. The reception staff are unfailingly wonderful and the rooms are comfortable, albeit on some occasions small for this quality of hotel. Subject to my comments below, breakfast is good. I have never stayed for dinner.

I had a nice room at the back of the hotel overlooking the car park. The breakfast, although continental, was good. Car parking in Cambridge city centre is expensive so I didn't mind paying to use their car park for convenience and peace of mind.
