Wonderful stay in one of the cottages’ rooms in the mews. The hotel is a dream come true. Great location and definitely worth to have a walk around the property. We had a very nice afternoon tea. The staff is so helpful and extremely kind.

We had such a wonderful stay in the shepherds huts. The hosts were incredibly helpful and welcoming, and we arrived to find the huts already warmed and the hot tub ready to enjoy. Everything we could possibly need was thoughtfully provided onsite, even charming little sauna hats that made us laugh. The huts stayed beautifully warm throughout our November evening, and the beds were exceptionally comfortable, giving us a truly restful night. One of our highlights was gathering around the fire pit under the stars, which made the experience feel magical. My dog was also warmly welcomed, with her own bed provided, and she clearly had just as good a time as we did. It was such a joy to find a place that cared for every detail, making the stay relaxing, cozy, and memorable for me and my best friends.

The staff were great. The food was excellent.

The staff were great. The food was excellent. The Oktoberfest on the Friday night was great fun with all the community welcoming us. We were upgraded to an apartment which was very big and the bed was very comfortable for my husband, who is 6ft3". But beware of events at the Castle Combe racing circuit as this can cause a long traffic jam with many visitors all trying to get into the circuit at the same time!

The place was utter perfection.

The place was utter perfection. Pat and Rowena's design sensibilities throughout the Old Library were exceptional. And then to be greeted by peacocks in the morning, in this idyllic location..it was the perfect end to a three week trip. The walk into Castle Combe was delightful-I had thought the village would be the highlight, but I have to say my accommodations for the evening rivalled even the lovely town..

Castle Combe is a stunning village with a lovely stream...

Castle Combe is a stunning village with a lovely stream running through the centre. The ancient houses are all different and the village is set in a deep valley. Without the tourists it is perfect. Try to avoid peak times. Maybe visit in the evening or early morning. Our favourite place to stay, if we can afford it, is the Manor House Hotel. Expensive but absolutely perfect!! Try to have lunch at the Castle Inn, this belongs to the Manor but is more affordable.

Castle Combe is a quaint little village but there’s only one...

Castle Combe is a quaint little village but there’s only one place to buy things and it’s out of a lady’s house - she has nice things for sale. The village has two places to eat plus one lady puts out goodies for a couple of hours on an honour system type idea but other than that there’s really nothing else open. It’s a really cute little town but I wouldn’t go there for any other thing except to see it and meander thru the streets

It was a beautiful village with two lovely pubs to get pissed as farts in. Good grub in them pubs too. The village was so clean snd well kept we would have felt comfortable sleeping on the streets there.. was truly beautiful.

Castle Combe is beautiful and small.

Castle Combe is beautiful and small. We ended up doing a 3 mile circular walk which was great. The buildings are very pretty but it is such a small village you won't be there for long if that is all you have come to see and if the weather is bad, you will struggle to find many indoor alternatives. Having said that, the coffee at The Stables was good and the pre-ordered picnic was very tasty and as I said, the village itself is very pretty.

The old house at home is one of those rare places in which everything was perfect. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the breakfast is great, I highly recommend the dinners here (slightly expensive, but it is definitely worth it), the rooms are comfortable, the location is good (less than 10 minutes from castle Combe and 25 minutes from Bath). We really enjoyed our stay here!;)

Off the beaten track (literally) but walkable to Castle Combe. Well appointed, beautifully furnished charming farmstay. Complete with resident peacocks, fresh eggs, lovely fire and farmhouse kitchen.
