Fantastic people and atmosphere at the Compasses Inn was exactly what we were looking for during our trip to the countryside of the UK. We stumbled upon a festival and had a great time at The Plum. All the staff were helpful and welcoming. One of the few places where dogs feel great and can enjoy the time with their owners. Really recommend this accommodation for all those that seek tranquility, nature, lovely people and tasty food with some local beers and vines. Everything was authentic, fresh and locally-made. Hands down the best English breakfast we ever had and probably the coziest and most picturesque cottage we have seen.

The staff were really nice and friendly and provided a very warm welcome. The room was lovely and the beds were really comfortable with added blankets on the bed to get truly cosy. We paid for the breakfast which was made with care out of quality ingredients. Plenty of parking was available too. Couldn’t ask for anything better. Plan to visit again when coming back to see Longleat.

The staff are all amazing, such a warm welcome and outstanding service throughout our stay. Food is also exceptional. Room was spotless and very comfortable, also very nicely decorated. We will definitely stay again, such a professional operating, outstanding.

Excellent location, farmhouse in a peaceful hamlet surrounded by trees and bushes while close to major sights. Debbie was a wonderful host. Lavish breakfasts. Bathroom is a few meters away across the corridor, not en-suite, but you have basically the whole floor for yourselves and we felt perfect privacy all the time. It way like a stay in 2nd home to us. This Hotel was perfect in almost all ways . Tim and Chris were the perfect hosts,nothing was to much trouble for them. The room was comfortable. It was a friendly and warm place to stay. The hotel was very Clean and the breakfast was top notch with plenty of choice.
