It was so clean, tidy and most importantly safe for a solo female. Initially, I booked it for one night as my friend was hospitalised and I wanted to be close by. They were so kind to give me a refund for the second night I cancelled although they didn't have to. I have to mention the breakfast, it was delicious (the best smoked salmon I've ever tasted). The whole experience, the property and service, was much better than I expected. Refurbishment has been completed to a very high standard, exquisite design, superb workmanship. There is very evident attention to detail throughout, furnishings, wallpapers, decor, artwork and accent pieces, all work in harmony throughout, from reception, to corridors, bedrooms, all public spaces and event spaces. Breakfast was excellent, exceptional presentation on beautiful Royal Doulton fine bone china (Rondelay for anyone interested), perfectly cooked, with high quality local ingredients and no single use plastics in sight. The in room cosmetics are locally made, again, very high quality, sustainable and also avoiding single use plastics. The bedroom itself was lovely, very nice decor, and a perfect nights sleep. The location is very peaceful, so you can sleep with the window open and not hear a thing. The owners and the team should be congratulated for their efforts, they really understand high level hospitality and discreet high level service. We loved everything about our stay. It really was an unexpected treat and when we return to the area we would love to come back, next time for longer if possible.
