Amazing place. The house was built in 1823 and you can feel it in the atmosphere of the place. It's not only about it's age, but most of all about the great renovation work that was done by the new owners since 2003. It's a great story - you can read it in the materials you will find in your room. Basically, it's a XIX century palace that was magically transferred to year 2023 (and fitted with plumbing and electricity). Most importantly, the staff was exceptionally friendly. The night manager that checked us in when we were late after a 4-hour whale boat trip was just amazing. I should have asked about his name...

Big room, big bed, big bathroom. (Finally, comparing to many small hotel rooms). Our room had a corner with refrigerator, coffee and tea facilities. There is a big free parking place for guests. There is continental breakfast, but it is communicated ahead, we knew it. There were fruits, cereal, yoghurts, farm eggs you can boil as you like, meat, cheese etc. Actually after many days of full scottish breakfast at other accomodations I was very happy with fruits and all the orher choices here. For us it was a very good breakfast. Staff was very nice. Restaurants are in next town, cca 5 min drive. It is out of town but that is why we chose it. Quiet place, our room faced the garden at the back, we didn't hear the traffic on the road (yes, it is by a main road: again that is why we chose it, it was on our route).

Absolutely everything, it was such a delight to stay at this place to the point that we extended the stay for an additional night. Perfect to recharge, enjoy some nature, while being close to Inverness & Loch Ness. Bonus point for the adorable staff, everyone was so welcoming and kind.

The staff were all absolutely delightful! The breakfast was delicious and provided loads of options. The room was large, and the bed was very comfortable. The location was great - right in the heart of the gorgeous little town, and as a bonus the first night I was there the local bagpipe team and dance school did a performance in the middle of town which was just a short walk away. They were great with pets - the only place they weren't allowed was in the breakfast room which still meant if you wanted to bring them for a drink at the bar or on the terrace you could. I would definitely stay here again.

The tasty breakfast, the generous hospitality,and the beautiful grounds exceeded all of our expectations. Scott went above and beyond to make me and my daughter feel comfortable. The hotel is quite quaint and one-of-a-kind. Scott tells me this hotel is a labor of love, restoring it to its previous charm and elegance. Well done, Scott. Your passion for detail and excellence was pervasive throughout our stay. My only regret is that I wish we were staying longer.

Our stay here was absolutely wonderful and without a doubt the best accommodation we experienced in Scotland. The room was immaculately clean and beautifully organized, with so many thoughtful little details that made a big difference – from the coffee, tea and snacks, waiting for us - to the very soft towels and bed linen. Having soft bathrobes available was such a lovely touch and added to the feeling of comfort and relaxation. It was clear that the hosts put a lot of care into making guests feel at home, and we truly appreciated the atmosphere of coziness and attention to detail throughout our stay. We would truly recommend this place to anyone visiting Scotland!

Giving easy access to Inverness, the Black Isle and the West...

Giving easy access to Inverness, the Black Isle and the West coast, Contin is an ideal base for a Highland holiday. Contin itself is a beautiful spot and the staff from both the local shop and the hotel Coul House were welcoming and friendly.

We had a ground floor room so could drive to the front door of the room and park - which was very handy during the verr frequent rainy days!. We had a microwave and fridge in the room which was very handy. The continental breakfast was very comprehensive - especially the boiler for boiled eggs; which were delicious with toast & marmite. Great choices of different type of yogurt, fruit, bread, croissants, juices, cereal and preserves.

A wonderful one night stay at this hotel while in town for a friends birthday event. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room were comfortable, clean and very spacious. Breakfast in the morning was delicious with a really great authentically Scottish menu. Would definitely come back again. Thanks to the hotel team for a lovely stay!

The location was perfect for us and our 2 dogs. Staff were very friendly,and the continental breakfast was excellent, fresh coffee, croissants, fruit yoghurt, and homemade cake!!! Beautiful place to walk and take in the amazing scenery 😍. We have booked another weekend there in October.
