I have been coming to Cromer every year for 12 years, so Cromer is doing something right! It’s a good base to explore North Norfolk. There are excellent places to eat, the beaches are in close proximity, and are never too crowded. If you walk on the beach towards Overstrand you can peace and solitude if you so wish. You have the option of walking on the beach or a or above the cliff.

The people are very friendly and welcoming, we had several pleasant encounters with locals. There are some nice shops but it had a slightly “seen better days” vibe. Our visit was in December so that may be the reason, all having a rest after a hectic summer?!

Huge car park close to the sea and shops.

Huge car park close to the sea and shops. Free after 6 pm so ideal for searching for an evening meal. Lots of characterful shops and many and diverse restaurants. We chose Bann Thai on Church Street and although they were fully booked (Friday night) they squeezed us in and we had an exceptionally delicious meal so we could see why they have earned so many restaurant awards. At least 25-30 diners came in to their booked tables after us and were obviously local people, all very informal and known to the proprietors - always a good sign of a restaurant’s quality. Cromer is ‘human’ sized. Small enough to find your way around easily. We were there in November but could still enjoy the sea, sky and views from the pier, but having holidayed there several times over the years, in summer it is idyllic- ideal for families with a sandy beach and lots of places to eat.

Lovely cafes and restaurants. I would recommend Hatter’s for coffee and scones they are amazing. Their breakfast is also very good. We ate at Pinto restaurant which was superb. Fish and Chips from No.1. Great place for walking. Easy to get to other places by car or bus.

Cromer is an English sea-side-town at its best, there are fish and chips to be eaten, the Pier to walk - even catch a show and then lovely beaches to walk, paddle and feel the sea air in your lungs!! What's not to like

Lovely quiet old fashioned seaside town.

Lovely quiet old fashioned seaside town. No noisy amusement arcades, nice old fashioned shops cafes and restaurants. Even though I didn't have a car, there were plenty of buses available to get to other places. The Cromer museum is definitely worth a visit; small but full of geological artefacts such as mammoth bones and teeth. Really glad I went. I also did a bus trip to Norwich which was easy despite inevitable roadworks on the way. Great for young children but not as good for teenagers perhaps. Lovely walks and clean. Norfolk was hard to find small bottles of water, it is only sold in cans. Other than that it was great.

The breakfast was excellent with a wide choice on the menu. It was beautifully presented and of high quality. The hotel was well kept with a lot of additional touches to add to our comfort (we loved the idea of sherry and cake in the afternoon). Parking on site is always a useful addition. The information sent out via email before our arrival was most helpful and informative. All around we were very impressed and won’t hesitate to use the hotel again should we return to Cromer.

I had a really nice stay at Cliftonville Hotel. Parking was convenient, with spaces available in front of and around the hotel. The room was comfortable and had a nice (sea) view, and the bed provided a good night's sleep. The hotel is in a great location, just a five-minute walk from Cromer centre. The WiFi connection was strong, and I appreciated the tea, coffee, and biscuits provided in the room. Although I didn’t have breakfast, dinner at the hotel was excellent.

The staff were very friendly and the bed was so comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of freshly cooked items to choose from as well as cerial, fresh fruit etc. The hotel is situated a short walk from the beach, which enabled us to have a refreshing walk after breakfast. We understand from our friends that they have had the carvery lunch at the Dormy House, so next time we are in the area, this will be a must. Location wise, it is a short drive to Cromer.

The Red Lion Hotel was one of the most loveliest places I’ve stayed in! Perfectly situated with an excellent bar and restaurant. Comfortable rooms, including facilities like a kettle, fresh water, teas, coffees, hairdryer, hair wash and conditioner, body wash, soap, and a tall powerful fan. Lovely view from the room and very much enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. As everyone else says, the breakfast was outstanding. Excellent service and selection.
