The hotel was very close to the bus stop which took us to Arbroath, a cute little village that we wanted to see. The bus station and cruise terminal were also close to the hotel. The dining options in Dundee were great, many to choose from, people in the shops friendly. The visit to the "Discovery" ship was great and would recommend this attraction. On the whole, it was easy to get around Dundee on foot or using the local bus. The local bus drivers were great and helpful to us as overseas visitors but some were very gruff, rude and unhelpful and assumed we would know things that as overseas visitors, we had no idea and spoke to us in a gruff and abrupt manner. V & A and the Thata restaurant for afternoon tea. Hop On Hop Off bus but a miserable unhelpful driver unfortunately. Stop off at the Law and walk to the top as views spectacular. Walk by the river. Dundee is a beautiful place by the sea. We went to the Verdant Jute Mill which is a must see!!! We ate supper at Malmaison and stayed there too. This was a perfect location as it was close to the water, the beautiful ship and the train station. The food was fantastic!!!Guest review byIreneCanada - 8.0

First room was large and spacious with a king-sized comfortable bed. Second room was smaller, but still very comfortable. I was very impressed, and I would stay again either on my own or with my family. The bus stop outside goes straight into town, and the Dundee buses are great. Staff are very welcoming, hotel is spotless. Fans were put in the room when the weather was hot, without asking for one. Food is delicious. I recommend woodlands Hotel to family and friends.
