We recently stayed at Hame on Skye and had an outstanding experience. The owners were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome. The dining was exceptional, with a wide variety of delicious options at breakfast and exquisite dishes for dinner. The hotel's location was perfect, offering easy access to major sites while providing a peaceful retreat. Mark and Ann made a genuine effort to communicate smoothly with us even before we arrived at the accommodation. The bedroom, bathroom, and living room on the second floor were all very clean and stylishly decorated. We were pleasantly surprised when we went upstairs to the living room, where Scotch whisky and glasses were set out for us, along with bread and drinks for breakfast. The host's thoughtful gestures warmed our hearts. We enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing walk along the beach. On the way to the basalt beach, we saw sheep grazing. We walked along the shore, explored the rocks, and watched the sun descend towards the horizon. It was just us and the sheep, gazing at the sunlight fading away on the beach. We were able to enjoy the small, cozy fireplace. Even in summer, with daytime temperatures ranging between 12-19 degrees, it was quite windy, so the time spent by the fireplace was warm and comforting. Throughout our travels, we felt the generous spirit of Scotland, especially here. After two weeks of travel, we were gifted with the perfect rest.

The Cabin was in a great location to explore the Isle of Skye especially the northern part of the island. It is well equipped for all your self catering needs. The bathroom is clean and the shower is excellent and the bedroom is comfortable and has plenty of storage space. The living space is also very spacious and the view out of the sliding doors is fabulous. There is also outdoor seating for a sunny evening!

Dunvegan was quite central to travelling across Skye for our...

Dunvegan was quite central to travelling across Skye for our various planned activities - whisky tour, puffin tour, walking Quiraing, Fairy Pools and Old Man of Storr. The two shops had enough for the grocery essentials and there were several cafes and restaurants to provide choice. The castle was interesting though a bit pricey.

The town itself is nothing special, although it had several places to eat. I would recommend the school house restaurant only two doors away. Everywhere is a drive, but my experience was that each drive was a pleasure and all the key areas can be reached easily. Plan time to explore the north end of Skye...it's well worth it. I was particularly interested in birding and photography, both of which are of high quality in the surrounding area. I did not have chance to visit the other attractions on offer such as the Castle, although I did call off at Talikser Whiskey distillery, which I felt was worth a visit. I feel for the best of Skye, go north.....

Dunvegan Castle and Garden is a must-visit. Very little traffic and easy to get around. Distances are deceiving because of the narrow windy roads - passing places are an experience! We had a great lunch at The Three Chimneys just outside Duvegan

Surprisingly little there, used as a base for 3 nights, should really have done for 2. Dunvegan Castle nearby and worth a visit. Limited places to eat. Had to drive to get to anywhere including start of walks.

Wonderful little town with so many gems if you take the time...

Wonderful little town with so many gems if you take the time to explore! Check out the Angus McCaskill museum for some quirky entertainment; the School House for a wonderful, hearty meal; Dunvegan Castle for a fantastic history lesson and some great walking paths; Two Churches walk up to the standing stone; and Misty's for a quick bite and some ice cream. Easy-to-walk town with friendly people.

Dunvegan is in a beautiful area of Skye and centrally located with easy access to the Cullins, and Portree. The weather was rainy most of the visit but we still managed to have a wonderful time and see the sights.

Nice location in Dunvegan - great if you're staying on the Isle of Skye - besides of Portree. Very friendly staff, Rachel welcomed us upon our arrival and explained us a few things in general. Good breakfast - it's a mix of a la carte a bit of a cold buffet. Parking spots are available, the rooms quite cozy, bathroom was clean, shower nice and hot. They have a beautiful beautiful lounge with a fireplace - where you can spend time and grab some drinks.

Baba was there to greet us on arrival and was very welcoming. She showed us our rooms which included a private bedroom, bathroom and living room - all tastefully decorated, very clean and really homely. The bed was comfy and after 10 days in our camper van it was the relaxing break we needed. I highly recommend Baba's place to anyone looking for a restful break in a great Skye location.

Although check in was 5pm, the hosts were able to make the accomodation available earlier. A wonderful property, extremely clean and comfortable, with a well appointed kitchen, in a quiet location. Easy access to all areas of Isle of Skye. Dunvegan is close by with grocery store, fuel, cafe and restaurant.
