What a lovely bar, very helpful and friendly staff, and welcoming. We checked in and was asked if we had a good journey and if the A1 was busy. We were shown to our room which was spotless, after freshing up we went down to the bar, and greeted by the customer's and had a chat. The drinks were good and good price. After a wander around the village we went upstairs to our room, lovely and warm (room 2) watched a bit telly and settled down for sleep. Really good comfy bed and pillows, slept really well. Next morning went down to breakfast. The breakfast was plentiful and beautiful, and again the morning staff very helpful and friendly. A fantastic stay and we will definitely be back.

Everything was great, from my late arrival time up to check out and luggage storage. Very comfortable room and bed, good shower, good amenities overall (towels, lights, coffee, tea, hot choc and cookies), great breakfast with a variety of options, and very attentive staff.

The hotel is located in an old building, but has all the modern amenities. The hotel is located close to the highway, which is very convenient when traveling from England to Scotland. The owners of the hotel are very kind people and try to make your stay at the hotel comfortable (for example, I asked to put food for the dog in the refrigerator and they did it for me immediately). The surrounding area is very picturesque: a river, meadows and grazing sheep. The hosts serve a very tasty and plentiful breakfast, and offer a choice of several hot dishes. There are enough parking places. I will be happy to return here at the first opportunity.

Best. A very well designed and equipped cottage.

Best. A very well designed and equipped cottage. Beds are comfortable. Showers function efficiently. Cooker and white goods in the kitchen are modern and all of a high standard. Heating is very effective, both radiators and log burning stove. Not so good _ nothing significant.

Excellent property all round re location, comfort,...

Excellent property all round re location, comfort, dishwasher, washing machine etc, all appliances and kitchen essentials great ,lovely big bathroom, super towels.Comfy bed and lots of space to hang clothes. We had fantastic weather as a bonus- can't guarantee that every visit!

The cottage is not in East Ord, but a small community...

The cottage is not in East Ord, but a small community called Scremerston. It’s on a quiet road just off the A1, with lots of good walks for the dogs. There is an excellent cafe a short walk up the road , which does reasonable priced full breakfast. ie bacon butty £3.20, plus fantastic cakes. All places of interest are within a short driving distance. Really a very nice quiet area to stay.
