The location was well placed for us, and it was easy to jump on the main tram. I cannot emphasize this enough. We should have stayed more nights. For the same price as some central accomodations you get to sleep on a boat. Cleanliness was top notch, and everything on the ship was well put together and design wise spoke to each other. Staff was extremely friendly. The breakfast area is beautiful. The bathroom looks amazing. You will not see such tiling in real buildings.

The location was very convenient. And the room was well appointed, very quiet, and incredibly clean. Even the bed was great (but queen-sized, so too small for couples)! Also breakfast had a wide variety of options and was delicious.

FAQs about hotels in Edinburgh

A Feast for the Senses

A city of heritage, heart and of course Hogmanay, Scotland’s capital is vibrant and edgy. Whether or not you come for one of its many festivals, Edinburgh is quite simply a feast for the senses.

The wealth of Edinburgh sights ranges from Holyrood Palace to the Botanical Gardens, Princes Street to the Royal Mile. Overseeing them all is majestic Edinburgh Castle. Be there at sunset on a clear day to see the city below bathed in a warm, orange glow. Simply stunning.

Wandering the streets, the smell of fish and chips wafts by, with the unique twist of salt ‘n’ sauce – a must-try variation on this favourite dish. Follow it up with a smooth whisky and you’ll start to feel like a local.

For a taste of Scottish culture, a kilt-wearing busker often plays the bagpipes on Waverley Bridge, while traditional folk music can be heard in some Old Town pubs. Complete your stay with a rugby match at Murrayfield or a round at one of the city’s 14 golf clubs, and you’ll have the true Edinburgh experience.

Whether you are looking for hotels near Edinburgh Airport or accommodations in the city center, Booking.com has a great range to choose from.

Edinburgh is one of the great cities.

Edinburgh is one of the great cities. The restaurants and pubs are terrific and popular. There’s always lots to do. I had a nice lunch at urban angel on Hanover Street and nice dinners at the Guildford Arms and Cambridge bar. I enjoyed drinks at Cafe Royal, Tiles and the Oxford bar.

My first time in Edinburgh, beautiful city, amazing architecture, but wouldn't recommend for the infirm, it has steep original cobbled streets, really need to be fit wish id have done it years ago, A visit down the royal mile is a must, starting at the palace at one end finishing with the castle at the other, it's a large castle

An amazing ‘home from home’ - a mini London with all the wonderful facilities, packed into a manageable space. Everyone should go there at least once - but once you have been - you’ll want to go again. It has a different appeal in different seasons so good excuse to keep visiting! Tip: Mary King Close is an amazing tour.

I loved Edinburgh.

I loved Edinburgh. We went for the Christmas markets and it was amazing. It didn’t cost us much to get there but in Edinburgh it was like London prices to keep that in mind. However I am obsessed with the city, it’s stunning. I think there is so much too do!! We loved the jazz bar, walking around old town and wondering around the national gallery. Also Harry Potter fans are very welcome there as lots to see for them. Enjoyed lunch at the elephants cafe (where JK Rowling wrote HP). We walked around everywhere in the city but beware of the hills they are a lot. However we did get a few taxis and they are so much cheaper than London. Also bus from the airport to centre was so easy. We also did the Edinburgh castle fire and ice show and it was amazing would really recommend

Everything we needed for a comfortable stay was provided. Good water pressure. Easy check-in and out. Excellent communications. A little walk outside the main centre which we knew when booking, but easily walkable in 15 mins, or make use of the good bus network. Quiet. Various restaurants nearby where we ate in the evenings- no need to go to the busy city centre for good food Used the Leith river walk to go to the Royal Yacht Britannia. Tesco round the corner. Thank you. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Edinburgh aparthotel.

Great value stay, with family room at a good rate compared to hotels we've stayed in before in the city centre. Hotel and facilities all seemed very new and good quality. Very close to Edinburgh Park train station with easy access to Edinburgh and airport. Kids loved the pool and we enjoyed the bar area and breakfast with a good selection for everyone. Great 13m pool, gym compact but fine, pleasant breakfast, on many bus routes so very accessible from the airport and city centre, air conditioning, no road noise despite being on the main road. Overall this was not only the best value hotel I could find for my stay, but it had the bonus of a swimming pool which is rare in Edinburgh in mid range hotels.
