Fantastic people and atmosphere at the Compasses Inn was exactly what we were looking for during our trip to the countryside of the UK. We stumbled upon a festival and had a great time at The Plum. All the staff were helpful and welcoming. One of the few places where dogs feel great and can enjoy the time with their owners. Really recommend this accommodation for all those that seek tranquility, nature, lovely people and tasty food with some local beers and vines. Everything was authentic, fresh and locally-made. Hands down the best English breakfast we ever had and probably the coziest and most picturesque cottage we have seen.

Excellent location, farmhouse in a peaceful hamlet surrounded by trees and bushes while close to major sights. Debbie was a wonderful host. Lavish breakfasts. Bathroom is a few meters away across the corridor, not en-suite, but you have basically the whole floor for yourselves and we felt perfect privacy all the time. It way like a stay in 2nd home to us. I had great communication from Sofya from the moment we booked and she had confirmed our arrival time. She let us know there was no time pressure and provided us with the code. After a long day out exploring we had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful annexe. It was very clean and even all the small things like milk in the fridge were thought of. The hosts had provided something to entertain my son which was very kind and then we enjoyed watching a movie before bed on the sofa. The bedding and towels were clean and smelt amazing and again they had provided everything for a comfortable stay. The sofa was super comfy and my son had a good nights sleep. The location was quiet which made for a peaceful nights sleep and the bonus of a parking space out front so no need to worry about our car. The kitchen area was well equipped with everything you would need and the hosts had provided some essentials for breakfast which we thought was a lovely touch as I had forgotten to grab something at the shop. Overall it was great and when discussed about our next trip down to the area we both didn’t hesitate to say we would stay again.

The room was immaculate. It is small so would be cosy for a couple but certainly perfect as a solo traveller. I couldn’t fault Jess and Steve who offered a really warm welcome and were happy to help with any queries throughout my stay. The local pub, The Royal Oak, is only a 5 minute walk away and a great place for drinks or food as you need.

Fantastic people and atmosphere at the Compasses Inn was exactly what we were looking for during our trip to the countryside of the UK. We stumbled upon a festival and had a great time at The Plum.
