It was a lovely stay at the Ravenscourt House. The two hosts Nick and Chris took care of absolutely every need we had. Delicious breakfast, cozy rooms, delightful service and a good sense of humor. If you are looking for a good place to stay in the cairngorms - that is the spot. Highly recommended! We will be back :) Ali & Franziska

I booked a budget room for a 1 night stay, and was so impressed with what I got that I booked an additional 2 more nights. The single room was everything I needed and more, and exceeded my expectations for what I paid. The bed was comfortable and the shower was nice and hot. The staff were lovely, particularly Aaron who was friendly, helpful & accommodating. The breakfasts were great value for money, and had nice variety. The hotel had a busy buzz with lots of other tourists, I found the location a perfect base for my explorations around the highlands. I will definitely be back.

We spent three nights at this amazing guesthouse, and it was a truly delightful experience. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and incredibly clean. It really felt like a home away from home. The breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay. Every morning, we could choose from an extensive menu, allowing us to try something different each day. Everything was fresh and absolutely delicious. The host was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. She provided us with many useful tips about the local area, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The shared living room and garden were also great additions, giving us a perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. Moreover, the location was perfect—centrally located, making it easy to access all the attractions and activities in the area. Overall, this was a fantastic place to stay. We will definitely return if we're in the area again! ---

The countryside in autumn was spectacular.

The countryside in autumn was spectacular. There are lots of local walks to suit different levels of fitness. The Spey is nearby so iconic itself and for the whisky distilleries along its banks. Interesting local shops. Fresh local produce. Nice folk. Close enough for trips to the Moray Coast and Cairngorms. Golf, fishing, garden nurseries all in easy reach.

Everything in walking distance , chippy , charity shop, bakery, bus stop, could see hills from town center. Great bus ride from Aviemore ...so much nature . Hotel was very good and much cheaper than Aviemore . Was worth doing the bus ride . If you come by car the scenic tourist route goes from here to Aberdeen.

One of the so-called “new” Scottish towns built in the late 1700s, based on a modern street pattern (Beauly and Ullapool also come to mind), there is a spacious central portion (called a “square”, even though it’s more of an extended ‘rectangle’) lined with a diversity of very active businesses and establishments. I had a lovely dinner in a central hotel that had hosted Queen Victoria and Prince Albert during its heyday. As it is located on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park, Grantown-on-Spey was a good jumping off point for delving into the Central Highlands.

Granton on Spey is a pleasant town and the local community...

Granton on Spey is a pleasant town and the local community woods are a great place to walk among classic highland trees. However, it offers a limited range of restaurants to eat out in the evening. We can recommend going to the Grant Arms Hotel restaurant (they normally serve non-residents) and its bar is also a good place to chill out.

The hotel staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was very charming, well sized and we had a lovely little lounge area overlooking the garden. Bed was soft and comfortable. The location is very convenient for exploring the highlands: it’s only 50 minutes’ drive to Loch Ness or Inverness, and very easy to head elsewhere as it’s quite central. We didn’t explore Grantown on Spey unfortunately, but it would definitely have been a good base to do so.

Set on a backstreet in Grantown on Spey, with easy access for cars. Nice and helpful staff and huge clean room with comfortable beds. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The house is a bit of a labyrinth but in a charming way and feels welcoming, warm and very British in a good way. The restaurant is highly recommended, excellent food. Breakfast was among the best I had in a while.
