Ulbster Arms is a very special hotel. On arrival, we sat out in the beer garden (on a beautiful warm Scotland day) and enjoyed a wonderful dinner and plentiful breakfast. Our room was very large, beautifully decorated and we had a comfortable, large bed. Staff were so friendly, especially the young girls serving in the restaurant.

We had an amazing 5 night stay. The pod was perfect, cosy, well presented and very clean. The views were spectacular with an added bonus of the hot tub. Loved watching the animals specially the coos and baby lambs. Thank you for the experience of feeding the coos, a memory we will never forgot. We will definitely be returning in the furture and highly recommend. Hosts were fantastic!!

Our room (a family room facing the street) was absolutely beautiful, very spacious, with a wall-full of huge windows letting in lots of light. It was tastefully decorated, clean, with comfortable beds, all the furniture looked new, the room looked recently painted, the dinner and breakfast were excellent, the staff friendly. It was handy having parking facilities. The pictures on Booking.com don’t do it justice. We were expecting it to be run-down and a bit shabby, but although it’s an older building, it’s well taken care of and clean, and quite charming. Bigger than expected.

Nice cisy apartment, spacy and equiped with everything you need. Beautiful surroundings and excellent base for a trip to the Orkney Island as well as a stopping place when driving the NC500 North Route of Scotland. Many different restaurants and shop clode by.

A really lovely hotel.

A really lovely hotel. Food (breakfast and dinner) was amazing (apart from Tart Tatin very soggy pastry). Staff professional, helpful and friendly. Disappointed couldn’t have a cocktail at bar. However, a fab place to stay.

The check in staff were excellent, very efficient and helpful. The evening waiter was also very good and attentive. Hotel was clean and well presented (unlike all of the other hotels we stayed in for our Scotland trip - which were 'tired' and in need of upgrading). Breakfast was good with a variety of cooked breakfast options.

Cottage was excellent and host had thought of everything when it came to equipping the property. Cottage was very comfortable. Location was quiet but that was not an issue for us. Very well stocked local shop available for self catering. Also the local hotel was very nice for food.

We were put in a deluxe lodge instead as our booked accommodation was no longer available. The lodge was part of the nearby Ulbster Arms Hotel also owned by the owners which was fantastic. Food at the hotel was very good.

Gorgeous cottage in a perfect for our needs location It had everything we could have wanted to use . Morrisons round the corner , hotel at bottom of the street which had amazing food .
