Friendly, cheerful, helpful staff. My very nicely decorated room, with large soft bed (though stacked with too many pillows and cushions), and a small but good bathroom with bathtub, was something I looked forward to at the end of the day. The cabin was in a perfect location in a quiet spot overlooking Bedgebury forest and had all the facilities we needed. Hosts made sure the cabin was lovely and warm before we arrived and left us fresh milk, tea and bottled water.

Food was amazing.

Food was amazing. Lovely bathroom products and lots of personal touches made the stay memorable. Good location for visiting many sights. Main drawback was no overhead ceiling shower due to ceiling height, so shower had to be handheld, which made hair washing tricky.

Beautiful part of the world.

Beautiful part of the world. Hawkhurst is small but very well placed as a base for day-tripping from with a wealth of historic houses, gardens, castles etc within easy reach, plus good walking country.

All staff were exceptional in their welcome, service and attention. Among the best welcomes at a hotel reception I've ever had, worldwide. The room was great (scaffolding all over the back of the building was a slight surprise). Food was very good. A radio in the room was a nice touch, together with fresh milk for the tea tray.

Very much a pub rather than a hotel, but the food was excellent. The menu is not extensive but there is a very good chef who really knows how to cook. We had the best scallops ever. The bedroom was of a high standard. Very comfortable bed and we could even make our own real coffee.

This hotel is on a very busy crossroads in the town of Hawkhurst. So there is easy access in all 4 directions. We know the area very well and liked the location. There are plenty of restaurants and pubs in the area.
