I have been going to Keswick for almost 50 years.

I have been going to Keswick for almost 50 years. Mostly cycling or walking but this weekend was just enjoying the pubs and views of the lakes and mountains without exerting myself. Great dog friendly pubs full of character and an open top bus ride down the lake.

Keswick is one of the most beautiful towns in the Lake District. We go a few times each year. And always love the atmosphere, this trip was especially lovely as it was the Christmas lights switch on. Everywhere was beautifully decorated.

I haven't been to Keswick since my girls were young, we tend to go to Bowerness more often. The main reason for this is because there has always been more to do there however, the high street in Keswick has changed for the better. There are so many lovely shops, restaurants and bars I am a converted Keswick lover again and we will definitely be returning.

We live locally, Workington, and enjoy infrequent visits to Keswick. Plenty of places to eat, lots of shops although there is a leaning towards the hiking and walking supplies and touristy stuff there are a good number of independent shops that are well worth a visit, and a goodly amount of activities, crazy golf, Kong climbing wall, trip on the lake etc. Keswick is also very handy for the rest of the Lakes, with decent public transport links, X4/X4 between Workington and Penrith and the 555 that runs through to Kendal and Lancaster.

This is a tiny market town (almost a village!) in Cumbria.

This is a tiny market town (almost a village!) in Cumbria. However, it has access to all of the lakes, boat trips, walking everything you need for a trip. There are a million climbing/walking shops in the town centre so if you forget anything it's all there. As for food plenty restaurants and cafes some very pricey others not. There is a Weatherspoons there which was packed morning noon and night for food if you don't want to pay for pricey places. There is a nice selection of bars too most do food and some are really foody places rather than bars. Dogs everywhere so if you are allergic - avoid! There is a wonderful supermarket there - Booths - which has everything you need if you are catering this yourself. Enjoy! If you aren't into climbing/walking then two nights is more than enough for just a relaxing weekend away.

Lovely property with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Lorna went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Her delicious breakfasts were generous and varied. The 24/7 snack and fruit corner was a hit with our 7-year-old. Great location, just a short walk to the town centre and other touristic attractions in Keswick (Derwentwater, Castlerigg Stone Circle, Catbell, etc). We had to leave a day early due to our child feeling unwell, and Lorna kindly offered a refund - completely unexpected and much appreciated.

Location was excellent, short walk to Keswick Town Centre on main road, or just over the road was the entrance to the park to cut through to town over bridge. Dedicated parking space. Very clean and well equipped ground floor flat, with very good shower and large bath. The bed was comfortable. Everything I needed for a weekend, self catering, stay was provided.

The breakfast was good, although we felt chastised for coming a little earlier than our agreed time slot and felt a little pressured to finish. I'm also not a fan of prebooking but I get that it minimises waste. The location is excellent, a short walk from Derwentwater and Keswick town centre.

The location is hard to beat with it being smack in the middle of Keswick town centre but it is on a street full of terraced buildings so doesn’t have the feel of a hotel. Breakfast was included which is great but cooked breakfast is only available 8-9am and the continental spread was sparse.
