We stayed in Cloughey / Kirkistown.

We stayed in Cloughey / Kirkistown. On the Saturday night we ate at Kirkistown Castle Golf Club. Staff very friendly. Main meal for 3 people, 2 starters for 1 person. 1 x bottle wine, 2 x pints, 1 x glass red wine, 1 x non alcoholic beer - £ 105 On the Sunday afternoon we ate at The Whitehouse Inn at Ardminnan Golf Club / Silver Bay Caravan park. Singer on for a couple of hours in the afternoon. Staff very friendly and personable. 4 x main meals (3 x turkey and ham Sunday roast), 3 x desserts, 2 x pints, 1x bottle wine, 1 x glass red wine, 1 x non alcoholic beer £110 Both venues worthy recommendations for portions and value. A number of other eating venues between Portavogie, Kircubbin, and Portaferry. Be wary of the road conditions which during our visit was notably awful with lots of large potholes, uneven surfaces and uncut hedgerows.

The area is peaceful and very pretty.

The area is peaceful and very pretty. We ate at nearby Strangford (use the regular ferry) but there were places in Portaferry (short drive). We loved the beach at Kirkistown and fantastic for swimming.

It's a quite peaceful area, with plenty of space.

It's a quite peaceful area, with plenty of space. I was really amazed by the people who, leaves there, they are welcoming and friendly. I love nature and water, I really enjoyed the coast of Irish Sea. I was with my family and we felt so secure and safe. No crime threats. Wouldn't regret coming back again.
