Beechtree Cottage: lovingly furnished, spotless and cosy rooms decorated with fresh flowers and a very welcoming atmosphere. When arriving delicious homemade pastry was waiting for us. Paul is a super kind host who went through the extra trouble to organize dinner for us when local restaurants were closed due to unfortunate circumstances. Breakfast wasn’t only super delicious but again lovingly decorated with fresh flowers. We can highly recommend a stay as it is a true gem.

Everything was great! Location perfect, in the woods, small cozy cabin with nice views, shared bathroom in excellent clean condition and a lovely traditional kitchen. Nathan has been super helpful too and very friendly. Will definitely go back for more days!

It has a good selection of walks nearby, a hotel in the village that does good food and drink and a well stocked local shop. Nearby Lodge Hotel has some fantastic lodges with hot tubs. Also quite handy for Blairgowrie and Pitlochry.

Kirkmichael is a quiet wee town but you have the mountains...

Kirkmichael is a quiet wee town but you have the mountains of glenshee to the east and Pitlochry to the west. And an amazing road between. Nice wee shop with cafe for everything you need. Great river walk from the village.

Kirkmichael is a hamlet situated on the River Ardle.

Kirkmichael is a hamlet situated on the River Ardle. In the village are a few lodgings, a restaurant and a small local shop. The village is situated on the road between Blairgowrie and Pitlochry. This road takes you through beautiful countryside, but the road is very winding and mostly single track.

Ken & Moira were very friendly and gave great tips that ensured we got the best from our time there. We ate in Kirkmichael at the local hotel for our first night and again on our third as the food was so good. Although we left our small dog at home for this trip, we quickly found out that dogs were more than welcome at the B&B as well as all the restaurants we visited. Will take her with us next time.

As others pointed out, the “hotel” is a bit shabby but the room was clean. However, it was impossible to sleep there! Music on Sat night until 11pm wasn’t a problem as we only went to bed after 10pm. It started, when (I think it was the staff) went to their rooms above our room and it felt like a herd of elephants is stomping there. It lasted until almost 2am and started again at 6am. Also, heating was on through the night. I had to turn it off around 2am but not in the morning, which doesn’t make sense.

We were made very welcome to the hotel, room was spotless and bed very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and staff very friendly. Will be back in the summer to explore more walks etc. Recommend staying at this hotel.

The location was absolutely stunning. The deer roaming around the grounds were a joy to watch and the lodge was absolutely brilliant. Hot tub was very welcome after some long walks. Meal in the hotel was fantastic too.
