The Dog & Bear was very comfortable.
The Dog & Bear was very comfortable. Great to have a bath with really hot water after a hard day walking the Pilgrims Way. Food was just what we needed, well cooked, filling and tasty. A lovely, very quaint village with friendly local people.
A lovely, very quaint village with friendly local people. Next time I stay, I will hopefully take in a stroll, the weather wasn't great, for the short time we were there. I can imagine during the Spring and Summer months, how beautiful the village square would be.Guest review byAnonymous - 10
Incredible walks through fields just past the medieval...
Incredible walks through fields just past the medieval church. I went to the local shop to buy some dog food and they let the dog in. I chatted to locals and visited some more of the shops all dog friendly. The village is beautiful and has a range of pubs and restaurants which I didn’t get chance to use. It was a really nice place to stay for a night. I would have like to have stayed longer. To top it off I heard a nightingale on my walk. I’ll definitely be back. Everything is always perfectly in order, the rooms as well as the restaurant. A gluten free diet is no problem for the cook, which we appreciate very much. When we recently stayed in the hotel we arrived very late at night due to unforeseen circumstances and that was no problem either. The personnel is always friendly.
