I don't travel too far from the property, as I am happy with the local context, but if you like travelling out, then there is lots on locally and further out of Llandovery. Lots of stillness, peace and enjoying the natural world. Due to allergies, cooking facilities in the property make it really easy for eating in. Solo and families can enjoy lots of walks. A scattering of independent shops and pubs to enjoy.

A beautiful area steeped in history.

A beautiful area steeped in history. On the doorstep of the Brecon Beacons makes it the ideal stopover point to enjoy an overnight stay. As a solo traveler I found the locals friendly and easy to talk to, as one person said “a stranger is a friend I haven’t met yet”.

It was specifically chosen to enable us to visit two other small towns and a national trust property. Despite the museum being small it was very informative and the volunteers were excellent.Sadly the town gives the impression it has seen better days ,what shops were open however were all very friendly and the town had lots of beautiful floral displays and hanging baskets.

This was perfect for me.

This was perfect for me. I enjoyed a mix of cycling and hiking as well as a visit to the nearby Dolaucothi Gold MIne, a National Trust property. Llandovery itself has plenty of places to eat. It's a 5 minute drive from Henllys, and parking after 6pm is free in the main Castle car park, which is convenient for the town centre.

The people of Llandovery were very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend The West End Cafe (opposite main car park entrance). Lovely meals, good value for money. Car park cheap. Plenty of walks. Good bus service to local towns.

I was with a friend, doing some cycling in the area. This was a lovely base. The host, Tamar, was really accommodating and helpful. The room was comfortable, with an patio area directly outside with tables and chairs. The breakfast was delicious, and the dining room is a very pleasant space. The estate is in a lovely setting and even has its own lake, a short walk away. Llandovery is a 5-minute drive - some nice pubs and interesting shops and the countryside in this area is beautiful.

Great pub hotel. My attic room was spacious, spotless and had a very comfortable bed. The food in the bar/restaurant was really good, reasonably priced, home made and well presented. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very well cooked and tasty. Nice little touches that lifted it above the ordinary. All in all a great stay. Thank you.

This is a fantastic hotel, spotlessly clean. Stunning food, my wife is coeliac gluten free. They catered for her every need and beautiful bedrooms. All staff are polite, friendly with a nothing to much trouble approach. The management lead with the highest standards
