I bought a Wicstun distillery trip for my hubby at Christmas which was great they recommened a curry house and when we got there they had empty tables but told us to go to the other one or ring them in an hour. By that time we had fallen asleep because we felt unwanted and uncomfortable there.

A nice little market town with a good selection of shops and services, a good base for exploring the often overlooked East Riding of Yorkshire. I was visiting family so can't really comment on touristy stuff.

Historical, all shops you would require.

Historical, all shops you would require. Huge Tesco, lots of quirky shops. Granville’s which is just like the one in the tv series. Hair dressers, barbers. Cafes and restaurants. Takeaways, bakeries. Hotels. Charity shops. Excellent street markets. Beautifully decorated street for Christmas. Statue of Giant Bradley with all plaques telling of his history. Very good bus service to York, Beverley and all the local towns. Not too far from Thd Wolds for walking. Lovely friendly town. Love staying there. We had breakfast at The Cafe on The Wold, staff were very welcoming snd even brought across a mason jar of dog treats. We also ate at Saints and Sinners which also provide fresh cooked food which was amazing, lovely cakes too. Amazing staff nothing is too much trouble. I think everyone who live and work in Market Weighton are just wonderful and make your stay fantastic.

Only stayed for one night but what a lovely town .....

Only stayed for one night but what a lovely town ..... hanging baskets everywhere, plenty of parking and the evening meal (and service) at the BAY HORSE was outstanding.... with a lovely big patio area at the rear to sit out and enjoy a drink or two. First visit but will be back.

History of the town is very interesting.

History of the town is very interesting. Winston Churchill stayed at the Londesborough. Giant Bradley recently featured in Barnum The Greatest Showman. He was 7ft 9 inches and also knew Gentleman Jack and were friends. You can see Giant Bradley’s house behind his statue. Granville’s store just like the one that featured on tv with the late Ronnie Corbett is also a must to visit. They even wear the old style outfits from the 1950s. You can almost by anything in there. Jacks Emporium is also an amazing shop with so many different types of curios you can purchase at brilliant prices. Lots of places to eat with many diverse options, eat in out or deliver. Many allow dogs in and Cafe on the Wold even brings a jar of dog treats to your table which they can snack on whilst you eat your food. Truly wonderful town.
