When the day approached that we were staying at the Green Dragon in Marlborough, I read the emails carefully and was a little concerned about no parking on the premises, sloping floors, low ceilings and steep stairs. The truth of the matter was, parking is available out the front of the premises between certain hours free of charge..ie at night when we arrived. The stair case was small and easy to climb. The low ceilings and sloping floors added to the character and experience. The food was top quality. The room was beautifully decorated, the beds were very comfortable, the en-suite was convenient and clean and the windows overlooking the High Street were easy to open. My only negative comment would be the flower boxes in the windows. The plants were dead and spider webs everywhere. That could be looked after better, but other than that one little thing which doesn't affect your stay, it was one of the best stays we have had on our UK holiday.

Lovely cosy accomodation. Welcome pack was very nice. Bed was very comfortable and the steep steps up to the bedroom made it more fun. We enjoyed seeing the farm and feeding our scraps to the pigs.

Marlborough it's self is such a beautiful town with lots of historical buildings which we love. I wish we were able to stay longer to explore all the amazing shops. Definitely on our return to Marlborough we will be staying longer at the Castle and Ball Hotel so we are able to do more sure seeing.

Marlborough has a lot to offer; I would recommend a visit to their cinema, a trip round all the shops, including the charity shops and a stop at Coffi Lab for a drink and cake. It is the perfect location to step out into the Cotswolds and beyond. I may be biased as I was born not for from the town, but the area has everything and the beauty of the countryside unmatchable.

The cafes have some quality food and the restaurants we used had plenty of choice. Many independent shops with lovely clothing. The Rick Stein closure was disappointing but we knew before we booked.

It's a great town with many interesting shops and places to eat and drink. It has a good vibe about the place. We found an excellent French cafe/restaurant which was very good . We would have gone back for dinner but it was closed on Monday evenings. Pity.

Marlborough is charming.

Marlborough is charming. A good choice of places to eat for both full meals and for coffee & cake. I enjoyed browsing and buying from the large selection of quality shops - especially ladies' wear, brands not seen on my local high street but usually found in bigger cities. My stay was for a course, but there were interesting and historical sites to visit from there.

The architecture of the old Coaching Inns & shop fronts, makes Marlborough a unique & a lovely place to stay & an after-dinner stroll. Located near the Ridge Way & Avebury ancient monuments, Marlborough is ideally located to sight-see this part of Wiltshire.

This is a very appealing hotel in a very charming village. We were given a warm welcome and the service remained friendly and efficient throughout our stay. Our room was attractively presented and equipped with everything the traveller needs. The bed was very comfortable. We also enjoyed the restaurant which served good food prepared with skill. It is clearly a popular place to eat but all went quiet before 11 p.m. to ensure a peaceful night.

Great location on the high street in Marlborough. An old building with all that comes with an old building, uneven floors, low ceilings, bumped heads a few times. The room was hot in the summer so we slept with the windows open onto the street below, some noise from the pub downstairs through the window but that was to be expected.

I always appreciate a B&B over a pub and this one had a fine ale selection as well as a fantastic breakfast. I travelled by bicycle and the landlord allowed the bicycle to be safely locked away in the function room. Great location in the very picturesque town of Marlborough.
