Rhu is a cute little village on the water.

Rhu is a cute little village on the water. I booked here because I couldn't get into Luss, and after visiting Luss, I'm glad we didn't stay there as it was extremely busy. Rhu is quiet and accessible to Glasgow.

My trip was purely social with engagements in Helensburgh...

My trip was purely social with engagements in Helensburgh and at local rugby club, so I did not go to any visitor attractions or restaurants over a wet and windy winter weekend even if sun shone on Sunday morning. Take care over crossing road intersections and parking on both sides of the streets in the town-both require driver alertness and awareness ..

Rhu is a quiet town with a few shops and facilities.

Rhu is a quiet town with a few shops and facilities. The view is amazing and we found a nice little beach walk we took a stroll around each evening. Only about 15 minute drive to Loch Lomond and other facilities. The Hill House was a nice little bonus.

All the people we spoke to were very pleasant - and helpful with directions.Everywhere was clean ! It was easy to find our way around and redeveloped areas had obviously been done with great care and were ' people-orientated 'There are excellent places to eat offering a variety of cuisines at competitive prices. There is a small friendly cinema, at least one large park, an interesting ' outdoor museum ',leisure centre, boat trips and, of course " the prom " ..., and more ! Last but not least MacIntosh's " Hill House ".We had no trouble parking at the pier (but this was in October ) This is my 2nd visit and I hope to be back !

Nothing. It’s a tired, beaten up old place desperately holding on to the reputation of what it used to be. Booked in for 2 nights, given 3 different rooms, all gross. Men’s underwear and socks found down the side of the sofa. Checked out, booked into another hotel. Fully refunded by booking.com after they received photos of all rooms.

The hotel overlooks the loch, it has ample free car parking. The staff are very friendly and helpful and advice on local taxis. Helensburgh is a walk away, but we used taxis £9 each way. The cooked breakfast was acceptable. The bar area is roomy with a reasonable selection of drinks.

I think this is the cleanest hotel room I've ever stayed in. The bathroom especially was spotless! A huge room with a gorgeous view of the water. Staff were really friendly and a delicious breakfast included. Not too far from Loch Lomond. Good value for money.

Staff that I met were lovely and helpful. Lauren who checked me in and Jasmine who was there in the morning at breakfast. Lauren was particularly lovely and friendly. A real asset to the Hotel. Helped me carry my bags and nothing felt like too much trouble.
