I was so super excited to stay in Jamaica Inn - because of the novel of Daphne du Maurier and because of the stories about its ghosts;)) And it didn't disappoint me at all! Loved the surroundings - the misty moor, loved the ambiance, loved the pub - it looks just as it should concerning the place and its history - I could stay there for hours!!! And loved the smuggling museum and two lovely stores - by the way the gentleman in the shop was super nice too!:)) The lady at the reception helped me with anything I needed, she was very friendly too!:)) Liked my room as well, although had no ghostly visitors hahah;)) Can't wait to be back there again, really! And I'm sure I will, it's already on my list of favourite places!:)

The room was very clean and tidy. The property has a very big enclosed area which provides ample playing space for the host's dogs and our dog. Infact upon arrival we spent about 30 minutes playing with the co-host Nova, which drained all the pent up energy in our dog.

What a lovely little oasis to have come across! Rosehip Barn is a beautiful place to stay. It had all the facilitates one might need for a few nights' stay and allows for easy self-catering. It is in a very tranquil location and really provides one with a wholesome experience. I felt immediately relaxed and welcome when I arrived. Definitely recommend coming here if you'd like a wonderful stay in the beautiful English countryside.

Its off the beaten track, but there are people around.

Its off the beaten track, but there are people around. Trefranck is a working farm which has been in the same family for 300 years, maybe more. Great scenery, lovely walks, beautiful church with chapel nearby (a must visit), good pub within a comfortable walking distance 2.25 miles out - 2 miles back).

We loved the fact that this was off the beaten track and...

We loved the fact that this was off the beaten track and very quiet. We didn’t walk around but drove to the Wilsey Down pub where we thoroughly enjoyed the food and hospitality and is only a 5 minute drive away.

I'm an artist and I stayed and painted here for a month.

I'm an artist and I stayed and painted here for a month. It is such a beautiful farm and everyone is so friendly there. I was staying over lambing season, and even though it is a crazy busy few weeks Sheila took me around the farm and to see all the lambs. I got puppy hugs as well! I would 100% recommend staying here. It is a perfect retreat. And for all the nature around there are so many amazing places that are within a 30min drive. Honestly such an amazing month.

We loved beautiful conutryside and fantastic hosts.

We loved beautiful conutryside and fantastic hosts. The location of the cottage is very good. It is quite comfortable for 5 people. Looking at lambs out the window and being able to light a fire in the fireplace in the evening was so enjoyable!
