2nd stay at bumbles barn we really enjoyed it once again, lovely cosy cabin and fabulous hot tub, fran and bill are exceptional hosts so friendly and their Irish wolfhounds are absolutely beautiful such a lovely kind couple, we had a great stay

Lovely hotel. Great location within easy walking distance of Falkirk town centre, but also on many major bus routes. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Storage space for clothes was provided and there was a rather nice TV. Tea / coffee making facilities were provided and replenished every day. Breakfast buffet was provided, offering both cooked (bacon, egg, beans etc.) and cold (cereal, croissants), and was very good. Dinner was available in the evening. At the time of writing, £16 for 2 courses, £20 for 3 courses. A good selection to choose from on the menu, I particularly liked the homemade steak pie and the mini egg cheesecake which were both delicious. Staff were all very friendly and professional, a shout out to Leah, Callum and Ellie who were particularly helpful.

Our host could not do enough for us. His advice on where to eat and go were spot on. This unit has everything a traveller could want. It is well located. Almost half way between Glasgow and Edinburgh. It is an easy 7 minute walk to the station.

Breakfast is wonderful, it is served in warm, straight from kitchen, all food are fresh, there is Day Room and kitchen with complete cooking utensils, microwave, fridge, dish washing machine, ironing board, very clean & comfortable. Bed is big & comfy. Bathroom is clean with hot & cold water. The owners are friendly & helpful. Definitely will go back there when I visit Edinburgh again.

Historic village in a stunningly beautiful rugged rural...

Historic village in a stunningly beautiful rugged rural location. Decent amenities. Well positioned for Falkirk and Edinburgh - around 15 and 30 minutes by car. Some pretty local pubs with good beer and food.

Very pleasant, comfortable and roomy Victorian single story...

Very pleasant, comfortable and roomy Victorian single story apartment which was attached to the friendly owner's house. It has some disabled facilities in the bathroom but only really suitable for mild disabilities due to the two large steps into the house and the low beds. Located between a school and a playground on the main road, which never seemed very busy, yet was accessible to beautiful countryside, many attractions, and between Glasgow and Edinburgh. Takeaway shop in the village does a great curry - there is also a petrol station where the lady runs out and serves you - not seen that for a long time - and a chemist and general store. Not much else. Great place to stay.

The location of Slamannan was perfect; just between Glasgow...

The location of Slamannan was perfect; just between Glasgow and Edinburgh. We visited the Highlands too, especially in the direction of Loch Lomond. Falkirk has it's own specialties. But just 'staying at home' in the cottage would have been terrific too. The cottage had it's games, books, a fire place....

We only stayed one night on our way to the far north of...

We only stayed one night on our way to the far north of Scotland. However, having explored the area, Slamannan would be an excellent place to explore Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling areas. Will consider staying here next time we visit the area.

Lovely picturesque place to spend Christmas.

Lovely picturesque place to spend Christmas. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't rate it enough. If what you are after is a comfy, warm place in a beautiful part of Scotland, with warm welcoming owners who not only accept your dog/dogs, but make a fuss of them and feel genuinely friendly, is the place!
