Was stopping over for Stamford v Kettering Town and with it being only 10 minutes on foot to both the centre and ground respectively it was ideally located. Cleanliness, facilities, location all very good. 10/10. If I need to stop over in Stamford the availability of this place will be checked first. Nisa Local is 2 minutes, Sainsburys 5 minutes, tried and enjoyed a smash burger from Eastern Toppings 10 minutes away pre match.

Lovely town, especially pretty at Christmastime with all of the lights and festive feel to it. The town centre boasts beautiful architecture and lots of high end as well as more affordable shops, restaurants and cafes, as well as architecturally interesting buildings. We stayed right in the centre, overlooking the cobbled (mostly pedestrianised) main street and worried that it might be too noisy or busy but it wasn't. Just the right amount of atmosphere but not noisy at all, we will stay very central again in the future. We enjoyed a wonderful stay at The Old Bank Apartments, had a fabulous meal at the Slanted Door restaurant, afternoon tea at The George Hotel, and sampled several of the friendly pubs and cafes. We also ventured to nearby Burghley House and there are many other inviting attractions that we could have visited if we had had more time. Stamford has a lovely feel to it and we look forward to visiting again in the future.

Stamford is well worth visiting.

Stamford is well worth visiting. The architecture is wonderful - it's remarkably unspoilt. There's a great range of shops, upmarket and everyday, little specialist independent shops and plenty of good eating places. We may even go again!

Stamford is an amazing place steeped in history the apartment we stayed in was so central we could walk to everything - wish we could of stayed longer In retrospect we should have booked further in advance as all the pubs / restaurants were very full The flat was warm and superbly equipped very comfortable beds so we slept well after our adventures We ate at The Mad Turk in a fabulous room at the back great atmosphere and food after visiting various pubs / wine bars - Sunday we ventured out to Finch’s Arms a little out of town but delicious food and attentive friendly service of course no visit to Stamford is complete without a visit to the infamous George We sat outside and ordered drinks ( you have to go to the bar yourself for alcoholic drinks ) despite the rain and win it was very warm and the staff did offer us blankets but not needed as outdoor heaters and sheepskins kept us cosy

Stanford is a beautiful, historic town with a big heart, beautiful shops and quintessentially Period England. You can have a day there and see some beautiful things but to really take it all in together with Burghley House you need a few days. I passed a stone house doorway and in the stone was scratched 'HL 1675'. Lovely

A beautiful town - lovely architecture, which if that is what you are looking for you will get it in good measure. Small centre which is easy to walk round - lots of excellent restaurants and cafes catering for most tastes plus very nice (though expensive) shops, and some superb charity shops (always a bonus!) Some good concerts at the Stamford Arts Centre, plus picture gallery. Lovely picturesque river side. Great antique shop in St Martins. As it lies somewhat to the eastern side of England the weather tends to be reasonably mild. It must rain but in the many times we have visited I only remember it raining once!

A Very pretty town with plenty of pubs, eating places and chain and independent stores. It is easy to get around the town on foot and a self guided tour is well worth doing. As with any small market town parking is an issue but there are plenty of reasonably priced car parks within walking distance.

The location, beside The Meadows, in Stamford was excellent. It was easy to explore the town on foot. The studio cottage was attractively furnished and the owners most helpful, both in explaining how the arrangements would work and in advising us how to get the television to work after we had pressed the wrong button and disconnected ourselves.

The property, food and bed comfort was outstanding, I could have just done without the fair being in the street outside as I was looking forward to peace and quiet. However, this did not impact on my nights sleep. I would visit again and highly recommend this hotel, Stamford is beautiful, with lots to do and see.
