The helpfulness of the staff. The function we were attending changed the starting time at the last minute and we required an earlier check in time. This was sorted out with the minimum of fuss and when we checked in were greeted by a very friendly member of staff.

Little Ireland is a gem of a property, a great find for us and our 2 dogs who were also right at home here. The house is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean (we would easily have believed we were the first people to have stayed due to the high standard of maintenance). The lovely hosts really have thought of everything, providing all we needed for a fabulous stay. They were also so helpful and when we messaged with a query they replied with an answer straight away. There was so much space for us all and we had a fabulous time (also really enjoyed a lovely meal in Papa Rab's!) Thank you for a great stay, we wouldn't hesitate to book again!

    Good base for touring the Galloway Coast, which is spectacular. Stranraer doesn't have a lot of ammenities for tourists, but is interesting for a walk about. Best Guest House ? Neptunes Rest. Family run, spotless, can't do enough for you. AW

    There's almost zero reason to visit Stranraer itself; no ferries run from here now. I found one decent shop of interest, the little museam was ok and free. The proximity to the mull of galloway and the rhins was my reason for staying. The accomodation choice was not great, but Royal Hotel was the best option

    Stranraer is a little rundown after its fortunes were affected by the relocation of the ferry along the road to Cairnryan. Much of the harbour is run down with tatty parking bays for ferry vehicles. However there are hidden gems, the swan lido and park by the water, an ACTUAL tourist information office, helpful public library. Decent if rather retro restaurants - Chinese, pizza oven. Museum and castle to visit although check opening hours.

    The ease of everything,service ,location very handy for the ferry, breakfast is first class , we are returning customers .ps if you like smoked salmon you can have it with scrambled eggs for breakfast

    A very nice and friendly town, with everything handy. Would recommend Dnisi coffee and cafe, their scones are great, with a great selection of drinks and food available. Also Baxters, a beautiful shop with goodies galore, definitely worth a visit, and if you are looking for a perfect gift it's the place to go. Had a great night at Stranraer FC bar in the centre of town. A lively and friendly night with Live music, dancing and a sing-a-long. Perfect Scottish hospitality. ❤

    Looks like a place that is well looked after. Was very comfortable and felt fresh. There was a place to leave the bike in front of the door but also a separate parking place is just nearby. The communication with a host was through the whatsapp which was handy. I was warmly welcomed and the breakfast was very well done (there was a menu the day before) with some artsy touches I could see, the dining room looked spotless and well arranged. I think there was some walking trail nearby as well.

    Breakfast was well prepared, tasty & great value. Room & en-suite had everything we required & accommodations was well organised. Hosts - Colin & Norma were friendly, informative but also discreet in their manner. It was a pleasure to spend the one night there on our way to a wedding near Dublin. It was an ideal location under 10 minutes away from ferry port. Would highly recommend to anyone coming to the area & would stay again if going back to Ireland.

    Our apartment faced the ocean and it was a great place to rest and relax. We were nearing the end of a one month tour of the UK and Ireland and enjoyed the comforts that the apartment provided. Also, the communication with Colin was very helpful and timely.
