Outstanding staff. Spacious, clean and comfortable room. Excellent location near bus station and centre of town. Hot cocoa mix along with tea and coffee in the room. Plenty of bath towels. Comfy chairs in room.

From arrival we were met with a friendly lady on reception, unfortunately I can't remember her name but she was very helpful, professional and made us feel welcome. The hotel in general was clean, tidy and had a homely feel. Myself and my partner had a great sleep, comfortable bed and a warm and clean room. We were just a few minutes walk away from everything that we needed. We didn't use the other facilities in the hotel but we definitely will if we return again in the future.

Arriving late off the Northlink ferry is sometimes a challenge for getting booked into places and obtaining keys and parking can be an issue. This however was perfect with its own car park and the room keys and a welcome note left for my arrival. The room was prepared ready for my arrival, heating and lights on and curtains closed. The en-suite room was warm and comfortable with all the usual shower gel, shampoo, tea and coffee etc. The breakfast was perfect and the owners/staff very welcoming and friendly. I've definitely found my place for when work takes me to Orkney :-)

This cottage was absolutely lovely. So cosy and perfect for our little trip to Orkney. Great facilities and it’s was a lovely surprise to have such a well stocked welcome pack. 100% I’d recommend and will definitely stay again.

Our favourite places in Toab were the lovely sandy beaches...

Our favourite places in Toab were the lovely sandy beaches which had an abundance of wildlife and flowers. We chose to eat at Sheila Fleet's Kirk cafe which had a choice of interesting dishes, but most importantly for us - a delicious vegan dish which we loved. The roads in Toab are easy to get around on and around every corner there are gorgeous views, little stone Orkney houses and fields of inquisitive cows! The wide open views of sea and sky are breathtaking, as are the gorgeous blues and turquoise colours that flood your senses.

This is a great location to explore the East Mainland of...

This is a great location to explore the East Mainland of Orkney. There are great beaches and coastal paths. We enjoyed walking along the coast from Dingieshowe beach and the spectacular Mull Head. We enjoyed visiting Sheila Fleet’s Kirk Gallery and cafe. Lovely gift ideas and delicious food. Deerness Distillery is also worth a visit as they make delicious gins.

A village nestled in the characteristic Orkney landscape.

A village nestled in the characteristic Orkney landscape. In spring, birds abound, including many curlews and skylarks. The coast is home to many seabirds (grey guillemot, guillemot, kittiwake, northern fulmar, and gannet).

The quiet location.

The quiet location. And being able to play with the house cat and the little lambs. The friendly communication with the landlords. Point 4 below is not an option for us. We were in Orkney to see beautiful landscapes and cliffs, to hike, and to visit historical sites such as castles and stone circles.
