It might be classed as basic but couldn't have asked for more ... clean, comfortable bed, TV, lovely shower and staff were very pleasant. Didn't use bar or breakfast but looked OK and smelled good. Location was ideal for what I needed with many choices of food/coffee places all within 2 minute walk.

The owner Richard was a fantastic host. My booking was very unexpected and last minute over Christmas period, but he went out of his way to make the stay welcoming and comfortable. After a long day out cycling, room was clean comfortable and warm. Just what i needed

Beautiful place to visit, a well kept village,plenty to visit, a little museum, Tutbury castle is worth a visit, has links to Mary Queen Of Scott's. Nice cafés and a fair few public houses for a little area. We needed more time, definitely visit again.

Tutbury is a really lovely place in very nice countryside.

Tutbury is a really lovely place in very nice countryside. The high street has retained its quite select features, is clean and well cared for. The hotel is central to the street. Not a place for retail therapy but one excellent antique centre in the old Chapel plus a few eateries and take-seats. Overall it is a lovely central place to stay.

Lovely little village, quiet but went in March. Castle not open but we had a pleasant walk around the village. There are a few shops for browsing. The Courtyard cafe is worth a visit - had a lovely brunch there and the coffee was great! the Hourglass is also recommended - light evening meals - had the veggie platter; very nice

Nice quaint village with plenty of character and history.

Nice quaint village with plenty of character and history. Nice food at the Dog and Partridge, bit tricky to get to using the Satnav from Alton Towers but might have been my navigation! Will be visiting again soon.

Very clean, delightful high street with shops that welcomed you browsing. The castle was very interesting and worth a visit. The hotel (The Dog & Partridge) ideally situated and very friendly and accomodating. Some great walks in the immediate area.

A real home from home , cosy & welcoming property . The owners have thought of everything , a more than generous breakfast , plus butter juice, tea coffee etc and all basic cupboard essentials. Fully equipped kitchen & Modern appliances if you intend to cook . Beautifully presented house , super clean and comfy beds . 2 mins walk to Restaurants & shops in Tutbury . We stayed for 1 night whilst attending the races at Uttoxeter and it was the perfect place to stay !

really lovely quirky old pub and hotel. The rooms were big and clean. it’s a very old and interesting building which meant that it was unfortunately a little draughty if you were sleeping next to a window (lovely old sash windows) but it didn’t cause us any issues. staff were super friendly and helpful. food was great for dinner and breakfast!

Check in show me all the way to my room which is nice, but it is a warren of an old hotel so they may have lost a few people before. :) I had a simple bar supper with great beer. Good breakfast included in my rate.

Very well decorated and very comfy bed. Fantastic view of Tutbury castle from the decking area. Lots of nice shops and cafe’s and pubs Parked right in front of house, free car park 1 minute away as well.
