This is a small but attractive town which is easy to walk...
This is a small but attractive town which is easy to walk around - in the most part - though the steeper streets can be somewhat tiresome in hot weather. A great highlight is spotting turtles at the waterfront but it's generally enjoyable to wander around in town and uphill taking in the views and discovering monuments and buildings in the hills and on the coast. There are few museums or tourist attractions as such but the town is a great base for travelling around the island with a variety of bus routes. In terms of food, I enjoyed eating out at a couple of good places offering the usual grilled fare of souvlaki and gyros, though the overall choice of restaurants is perhaps a little limited, depending on tastes.Guest review byColin B AUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Loved Argostoli and would definitely visit again. Lots to see and do and our hotel was only 10 minutes walk to the main hub of the town. The bus depot which was only 2 min away from our hotel, made it easy to get from place to place.Guest review byChrisAustralia - 10.0

Attractive shopping areas, within easy distance of where we were staying. Interesting museums, although a pity that the main archaeological museum was in process of rebuilding. Beautiful town with really nice shops and great range of restaurants (excellent food). Very clean, great value and the people are very polite and friendly. There are buses to nearby resorts like Lassi which has two amazing beaches - our favourite was Platis Gialos. Easy to drive if you hire a car or good bus service and tour options as well. If you like to do more than just go to the beach then Argostoli is a great option as it has a relaxed holiday feel but more options at night than smaller resorts.
