It’s a mini apartment that has everything. Fully equipped kitchen, washing machine. I had to work during my stay and I found a nice table to work from. We stayed for a week but I would happily stay here for a longer time. Oh and did I mention the owners? They were so nice and made sure we had everything we needed.

We chose this hotel after getting off the Italian ferry to avoid traveling for long nights. When we entered the facility, we saw what a right decision we made. The refreshments left in the room helped us relieve all the tiredness of the day. The location is right across the harbour.

The friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to help us. Located close to the ferry port and we could get there in a few minutes on foot. We needed the bus station when we left and the host gave us a lift though it was close enough to walk.

Igoumenitsa is an ideal starting point to visit lots of lovely areas of mainland Greece. The beaches North of the town towards Albania are lovely and the water clean. Outside Igoumenitsa going south there are lots of bays and hotels to visit and some lovely unspoilt countryside and villages. A visit to the Acheron Gorge is really worthwhile.

When I was in Igoumenitsa, I checked out Zanzibar —...

When I was in Igoumenitsa, I checked out Zanzibar — definitely a must-visit! The vibe was great, the food was amazing, and the sunset views were stunning. We had a pre-wedding gathering there, went for a swim, and the staff were super friendly, which made the whole experience even better.

I recommend a visit to the Archeological museum of...

I recommend a visit to the Archeological museum of Igoumenitsa. This museum is excellent with friendly and knowledgeable staff and an amazing collection including exhibits from a recent exploration near to Igoumenitsa. Igoumenitsa castle is worth a visit. It is close to the town centre and an excellent viewpoint for the port area as well as being well preserved with informative signage. Walk along the promenade from the ferry port towards the beach. Rent a bicycle and cycle to the beach. Order souvlaki and a beer from the street cafes along the promenade.

The city is a typical Greek city dependent on sea trade and transport. It also has nice beaches but the harbour as hub for the surrounding islands of Corfu and other islands like Paxos in the Ionian Sea, and therefore there is a lot of sea traffic on the water as well in the city as the main motorway leads from Igoumentisa to Thessaloniki.

I liked the fact that everything is within walking distance. Caught a fairy to Corfu and spent the day there also. If we had a car it would have been so much better but was too scared to drive on the wrong side of the road being from Australia lol. The thing that was a disappointment was the fact that there are step’s everywhere and if you are disabled there is no chance to get in and out of shops etc… Foot paths were uneven and too many stray cats and dogs.

We used the Hotel as a stopover during our holiday, we were using the port as a point of transfer over to the island of Corfu. The hotel and location cannot be faulted. We found a small taverna within 50 meters of the hotel where we ate for the evening.

Having had a very long ferry journey from Brindisi, the hotel is only a short distance from the port. When we arrived we were very pleasantly surprised when we checked into our room. The room was very clean the decor was very modern, the bed was super comfortable, with the added bonus of a coffee machine. I would definitely stay here again and would happily recommend this to friends

Hotel Jolly was a last minute booking owing to the fact we had to get to Igoumenitsa a day earlier than expected. The hotel is a few hundred metres from the port with many restaurants near by. It is a basic and old hotel. The beds were comfortable and a breakfast supplied. Staff were friendly and were very accommodating with bags being dropped off early and post checkout.

Very helpful reception staff, especially the gentleman who on our arrival told us about a nearby beach and arranged a taxi to take us there. The taxi then also came to pick us up and take us back to the hotel. Perfect location for the ferry port as it is directly opposite.
