I notified the hotel before 3pm on the arrival day that we could not arrive on the island & wished to cancel that night. A wonderful place with so much to see.
A wonderful place with so much to see. A peaceful place full of history. Portara is beautiful both day and night, and even more so at sunset. With a few tours, you can reach Delos, a wonderful island full of history! Near the port of Naxos there are very nice restaurants and pubs for all tastes. Picturesque and huge old town.
Picturesque and huge old town. You can really get lost in its maze of alleys and just explore it. Amazingly clean. The locals are super friendly, welcoming and helpful. Lively town with loads of great shops, bars and restaurants, to suit all tastes, particularly in the port area. Travelling around is easy with a good regular bus service which takes you to all the beautiful beaches. We enjoyed visiting St. George (Agios Georgios) Beach, which has shallow waters for young children Also, the Temple of Apollo was very nearby and has some amazing views. Our favourite part was taking a walk to the Castle (Kastro) in the Old Town . It's beautiful narrow cobbled streets with quaint shops along the way lead you to the breathtaking views when you reach the top. Remember to take a moment to absorb the views from this height. We loved our four nights and five days in Naxos and could easily have stayed longer. The city is perfect blend of culture, shops, restaurants, bar and nature. My teen daughter and I felt safe and loved the hospitality by everyone. So much to do too. It's right next to the Princess Hotel which makes it easy to locate, with local buses stopping there, this hotel causing us no problems whatsoever, just added value with their pool and bar area. The centre of the town of Naxos can beach easily reached on foot in under 15 minutes, the ferry port is 20-25 minutes away on foot, but both can easily be reached on the half hourly bus service.Guest review byChrisUnited Kingdom
