One of the best cities we have visitted in Peloponnese, the main reason being the amazing scenic beaches that are located quite close. The main Pylos square beatiful and it takes you back in time with the tall trees and the vibrant atmosphere. You can rent a boat if you know how to drive one, take organised cruises from Pylos or Gialova and visit Methoni, Foinikounta, and other amazing little cities around. Lovely town square lined with cafes and shops with the harbour on one side. Hilly and gorgeous views of the islands surrounding the large harbour. We were there to visit an archaeological site. There are wonderful Midevil castles (Kastro in Pylos, Methoni castle, Palace of Nestor. The new museum in the Pylos Kastro is great. We only stayed the one night on a road trip around the Peloponnese. However, Pylos had plenty of cafes and some amazing beaches either side that we would have loved to explore if we had more time. We had an awesome experience at MPAHALOGATOS CAFE & LOCAL PRODUCTS. It's a street off the main square so it doesn't get the same foot traffic but our experience there was amazing nonetheless.
