FAQs about hotels in Piraeus

A Shiny Port with Fascinating Naval History

Designed by the ancient architect Ippodamos of Miletus during the 451 BC, the nautical city of Piraeus is home to the largest Greek port. Situated on the coast of the Saronic Gulf, in the region of Attica, this beautiful destination occupies a strategic location with rich history and great naval power.

Plan your getaway to the Greek islands and get a ferry from Piraeus Port to Crete, Rhodes, Paros, Naxos, Santorini and Mykonos. Visit the upscale area of Pasalimani (or Zea) and relax in one of the charming seaside cafes and restaurants or just admire the impressive yachts and traditional fishing boats in the elegant Mikrolimano.

Set on Kastella hill, the stunning open-air Veakeio Theatre offers breathtaking views over the Saronic Gulf and interesting art activities during the summer months. Located in the region of Faliro, the imposing Peace and Friendship Stadium and the football stadium of Karaiskakis are only 4 km from the city centre.

The electric railway terminus of Piraeus station connects Piraeus with major areas of the city of Athens like Monastiraki and Kifissia. Booking.com will help you choose from a variety of hotels in the city of Piraeus and the Greek islands.

Pireaus has its own market and is the main gate to Greek islands. It is accessible by metro, tram, bus, that makes it fast to reach the center o f Athens. It has lots of traffic though and polution from ships. In overal it is a good choice for someone that plans to visit the islands and Athens city center with Acropolis.

Great place to stay if after a cruise or before going on a cruise. They even pick you up or take you to the cruise port! The rooms are small but very nice, clean, great linens. Great shower with shower head, unlike many Greek places which only have hand held. Staff nice. Nicolas was fabulous helping me do anything I needed to get donw. Speaks perfect English and enjoys his job. Just walk out of the hotel and you are at the marina with lots of places to eat. Felt very safe there.

We go there a day or two early arriving from Athens to board our cruise ship. Piraeus is a lovely city. Almost next door is a new building with a bar looking out over the harbour. Down on the corner is a great kebab place and just across the road is a local, family run taverna with great food. We always order too much!

We flow in two days before sailing out for our cruise.

We flow in two days before sailing out for our cruise. We planned the hop on hop off bus from Piraeus to Athens. Which the first day we spent the entire day in Athens. Visited all the highlights of Athens by taking the HOHO BUS. The tour started at 8:30 am ended at 5:30 pm. Then the second day we walked Piraeus on foots which is a beautiful city, lots to see. We shopped and ate at a few of the restaurants, Went to the marina and and sat and enjoyed the relaxing vibes. Tip- make sure you wear comfortable shoes at all time, due to the hills, cobblestone street, and uneven pave, dress in breathable clothing. We were there from Sept 18th 2025 and it was still warm the highs was 82 degrees low at night 59 degrees.

We stayed at Triton Hotel mainly for its proximity to the Piraeus port, and it was exactly what we needed. The location is excellent—just a short walk to the ferries—making it perfect if you have an early morning departure. The hotel offers great value for money, it was clean, comfortable, and reliable. Overall, a very convenient and practical choice for travelers catching a ferry.

Perfect for what we were after - arrived late into Athens airport with a ferry the following morning. The staff were warm and friendly, the hotel simple, clean and comfortable. A cot was set up for our 17-month-old and we had a short 10min walk to the ferry in the morning.

Lovely hotel near the port. Room was well appointed and the bed was very very comfortable. I had dinner in the restaurant which was OK and the breakfast was great. Hotel parking, once found, was an added bonus!

The hotel presents well from the outside, is easy to locate and near the port ferries. Inside everything was clean and tidy, safe and comfortable.
