Osijek was once the second city in Croatia and still has evidence of that. The collection of Secessionist buildings on Europska Ave is outstanding on a European scale and it is a disgrace that this hasn't been recognised by the EU. The historic complete military township of Tvrda is also a must visit place. The surrounding Baranje area provides tastes of a country far different to Dalmatia which is what most visitors to Croatia only experience. The Kopacki Rit reserve is a great place for birdwatching including breeding White tailed Eagles and the nearby forest holds large numbers of wild boar.Guest review byAlexandraUnited Kingdom - 10

A beautiful city and wonderful people. From monumental buildings to beautiful nature. On both the Osijek and Baranja sides, there are plenty of restaurants where you can eat deliciously. I definitely recommend a ferry ride and a walk across the Pedestrian Bridge.Guest review byAnaCroatia - 10
