This is the most charming village we've ever been to. We had a roadtrip across Croatia and Hvar was absolutely our favorite place. The apartment had free parking place 5 minutes away from the apartment. The host provided all the necessary information for checking in. It is dog friendly. The apartment was small but we haven't missed a single thing. It was very well equipped and modern. And of course very comfortable. The villagers were so nice. Probably the most friendly we encountered so far. It is very peaceful with lots of trails to walk and explore plants and animals. We felt very welcome. And a big recommendation goes to Wine museum that is 5 minutes walk away (orange building saw from the window), that is very informative with amazing guide Dejan, who is encyclopedia of wine, history and can really offer a plentiful insight into Hvar culture. Even if you are not a wine enthusiast, it is worth visiting.

This resort has it all and is perfect for families, be it the smallest ones or more grown-up kids (adults will love it too). The resort is eco-friendly, so there's that. The staff is amazing. As I came to breakfast the first morning, I stood there somewhat bewildered as to what was what. But lo and behold. A member of the staff asked if they could show me around. I've never experienced that before. It was not that I got escorted through the lavish buffet, but that the waiter noticed my predicament and acted on it. That is something of note. The food was great, loads of variety. Grilled fish, meat and vegetables, and, of course, easy stuff for the kids such as pizza, etc. And please, try their local wine. It's truly worth it And the place was clean. There was absolutely nothing that bothered me in that regard. Last but not least: beds and pillows were so comfortable. I really didn't want to get out of bed. Also, there is a short walk 1½ km/1 mile to a store close by if you need something. After that, just a few more steps into a beautiful town that dates at least back to 300 BC. Tl;dr: Choose this resort for your vacation. It's well worth your time and hard earned money.

We spent a wonderful September holiday at the Stella Mare 4* hotel in Zavala, a beautiful calm place, stunning views from terrace, clean spacious apartments and excellent beds and mattresses. The hotel provides in a family restaurant with really delicious meals and the breakfast is also served very various. The hotel and staff services are excellent and really professional, very accommodating. We had a wonderful time during our holiday, on beautiful beaches and in the clear sea!

We loved the vibe. The DJ playing great tunes all arvo. The food. The comfy bed. The room. The balcony. The breakfast. It was all great. The place is in Stari Grad which is 22km from Hvar Old Town. If you like being closer to the Old Town, little Streets restaurants and bars, this IS NOT the place for you. But if you like the idea of a stunning pool, loads of lounges, bar by the pool, a beach, and transport options arranged by the hotel, on-site restaurant with lots of options, then you will enjoy it here.
