Our recent trip to Bali was truly unforgettable, and staying at the Lesong Hotel was the centerpiece of our experience. The hotel's dedication to tourism and their profound mission greatly inspired us. They have a love and passion for this beautiful area of Bali (home to the indigenous people of dalem Tamblingan), as well as their commitment to preserving and promoting the ecological, social, and cultural aspects of the area. Not only did the hotel excel in its mission, but the food they provided was also exceptional. We had the pleasure of dining for both dinner and breakfast. And the room! It was beyond compare. Sitting on the terrace, I immersed myself in the tranquility of the surroundings, reading my book and listening to the harmonious sounds of nature. The view of the mountains in the distance completed the picture-perfect scene. Additionally, the pool was a pristine oasis. But what truly sets Lesong Hotel apart is their incredible staff. They consistently went above and beyond, offering invaluable guidance and assistance throughout our stay. We took advantage of their tour options and found their suggestions to be spot on. It is a wonderful hiking area. Leaving this remarkable place was no easy task. It left such an impression that we are already making plans to return to Bali in the near future, solely for the opportunity to stay at Lesong Hotel once again.

The cold pool and jacuzzi, the beautiful sunset and fire-pit with marshmallows! To be honest nearly every aspect was perfect! We cannot wait to go back again! Staff were really helpful and simply wonderful. We went on the plantation trekking with Eddy and that was a great way to start the day and explore how the local ingredients grow. We stayed in cabin 7 which we loved as the view with the big tree in front was very special every morning to wake up to. Breakfast was delicious especially the pancakes. Definitely try the Ulekan restaurant, their chicken satay was the best we’ve tried in Bali so far!

This beautiful villa in the mountains offers amazing views and a peaceful escape. The design is thoughtful and inviting, and the host was very attentive and helpful. Even in the rain, it was a great retreat from the beach. The waterfalls are just a short walk away, making the location even more special. I would definitely recommend this place and would love to come back!

A haven of peace, full of charm, to discover absolutely in the north of Bali, perched in the mountain, 20 minutes above Lovina. If you are looking for a little freshness in a suspended, intimate place, then this place is for you. The owners, a mixed Indo/English couple, have put their heart into it and have managed to unite the whole village, which supports them in this adventure. Moreover, all the staff are local. Most of them are former cruise employees, who returned to the village during the pandemic and never left. They are therefore all already trained in tourism and many of them speak perfect English. Not far from the establishment, they have, on dozens of ares, their own organic vegetable garden.  You can go there and harvest your own vegetables, and during a cooking class cook them, to finally taste the dishes that you have prepared. Each room is a typical Gladak house, in wood, built with a "modern" style, well decorated. The bedding and pillows are a pure invitation to soft and restful nights. If you like to wake up early, then you will have the chance to see beautiful sunrises, and if you are lucky, like we  were, then you will be facing a beautiful show: complete rainbow going from the mountain until the top of one of the Java volcano, over passing the palm trees. The sunsets are also amazing in this area. The food, cooked by a local chef, is quite good. Thanks to all staff for their absolutely professional and their great welcome.

I really like the staff, they was always smiling. Also , the view from the top room is wonderfull. To finish, massage just after gym was really appreciated. Honestly i want to recome back here, it was a real peacefull moment.

Temperature (around 18-19 degrees celcius in the evening) and beautiful countryside and vegetation - many waterfall walks available (although quite tourist heavy). Beautiful area and totally different to the various beach spots of Bali.

The area around Munduk is very hilly so it is good to be...

The area around Munduk is very hilly so it is good to be prepared for this if doing a lot of walking. If you don’t have your own wheels, you are mostly reliant on local transport/drivers,to get to a number of attractions in the area. We enjoyed a visit to the Lakes and the Botanical Gardens which were very peaceful. Walking the 5 local waterfalls from Golden Valley was a highlight, which took us most of the day. Next time I would go on the canoes on Tamblingan Lake. It looked like fun.

For my money, Munduk and other areas of North Bali, are the...

For my money, Munduk and other areas of North Bali, are the places to visit if you are looking for an authentic Bali experience, lacking in over-crowdedness and offering simply what the South can no longer offer: unhurried, unobstructed and authentic natural beauty and kindness, the kind that was maybe present 40 years ago in the South, when I last visited. If you are into nature that is not over infrastructured, this might be your place too. Because it is remote, it will lack Grab and other conveniences but that is the price we pay for being early to a place. Let's hope it stays this way forever. I know the locals hope so too.

Driving around the Munduk area gave me some of the most...

Driving around the Munduk area gave me some of the most stunning views of all the places I have visited in Bali. I love the countryside of Sideman, the Jungles of Ubud, and the hills and mountains of Candidasa, but the hill and mountain experience of Munduk just blew me away. Next time I will return for more than one night, and do some trekking and Waterfalls.

Munduk and Bedugul area is perfect for those that like...

Munduk and Bedugul area is perfect for those that like hiking off the typical balinese tourist locations. There are plenty hiking routes to walk in rice fields, around the lakes, at waterfalls, etc. The restaurants in this area are more local, but also offer some light international kitchen. The nights are more refreshing than in the south and the nature can be fascinating with the clouds, the rain and the sunshine chasing each other. For those that want to explore some curves roads with bicycles or scooters or motorbikes, it is a perfect choice.

I loved the staff, Dedi the manager is very welcoming and willing to help you organize your trip around Munduk area. If something wrong in the hostel Dedi will fix it fast. Clean place, very spacious, luminous, very comfy beds. Laundry, billiard, balcony, garden, tables to eat outside. Football fields ! You can order food here at honest price. The food is tasty Near an unbusy road so it's quiet. The wish of Dedi is to make an hostel with the standard of an hotel and it's a success.

Its a a great location, amazing view and is good value for money. Nice staff! We also loved the warung next door “ warung Heaven”. They also offer tours just like this hotel. Munduk is absolutely worth going to as there is so much to see in one day, without it being to much. We did a hike around a lake, went canoeing back, went swimming at a waterfall and enjoyed a hotspring.

Munduk was a great village to visit and the Puri Alam was a good spot to base ourselves. The pool had a great view and was clean! The room was cosy and had plenty of charm. The jungle walks were brilliant too and not far from the hotel.
