Julia, the owner, and her team are extraordinary, so charming, their smiles, kindness, and warmth made our stay unforgettable. We were so pleasantly surprised by Sumba Nautil. It is located on a beautiful big property, with winding paths through their manicured gardens leading to each cottage. The gardens are full of flowers and fruit trees. There is a huge dining area, and an amazing large, clear pool all overlooking the ocean. The view is incredible!! Our cottage was spacious, clean and comfortable with a seating area both inside and out, all with ocean views. It felt like a mini home. The included breakfast was delicious and professionally served by such sweet staff. The owner, Mr Ali was very welcoming and kind to us and very helpful. The whole property is very private and so peaceful - we can’t wait to return

This place is heaven on earth. We felt like home. The staff are so nice, sweet and lovely. We have told them that it was the birthday of my friend and they made up a beautiful place with a wonderful table and they prepared a super Indonesian dinner. They were always available for us with their beautiful smile. We cannot describe how good we felt with them.We cried when we left. I really hope to come back next year and to find them...

The hotel is beautifully designed and in a beautiful area very close to some picturesque beaches. The staff are very friendly and attentive and make it easy to organise trips and activities so you can experience Sumba. Surf lessons are a lot of fun and the village tour and waterfall tour are both great. Cocktails were really good, as was the food at breakfast. The hotel seems to have a good relationship with the local people and seems to have genuinely benefitted Sumba.
