The accommodation was exactly what we were looking for the road trip we were doing. Location was not far (by car) from a very nice beach and had a beautiful view. The host was very kind and gave us precious advices on where to hit. She also prepared some homemade cakes to welcome us. Breakfast was delitious as well as rich. The room was tidy and clean.

Teach Hudí Beag is a fantastic pub, with excellent staff, the most wonderful traditional music sessions on Friday nights and (I think) Monday nights, and Irish the spoken language throughout. Caife Chití just opposite is the perfect place for breakfasts, salads, lunches. And the tours in nearly Croithlí distillery are both entertaining and informative --- the whiskey tastings are great too!!!!

Although only there for a short while Bunbeg has all the ingredients of the mystic west. The sunset was spectacular over the beach. Bád Eddie (Eddies boat) on Bunbeg's Magheraclogher beach, in Gaoth Dobhair (Gweedore) is a must see. The official story is that the boat was stranded on the beach but we heard from a good source that Eddie did it deliberately. He beached the boat in order to fit a new engine but he was going through a divorce and his wife asked for her share of the boat so he never repaired it.

It’s very quaint, full of character and the decor is beautiful. It gave me some inspiration for my own house! It’s also very clean. It was extremely well equipped, literally everything you could think of- even down to plastic picnic cutlery. Excellent quality tea and coffee, biscuits etc and some drinks in the fridge! Our host couldn’t have been nicer, it was a very last minute booking for my partner’s birthday and she put up balloons and a banner without me asking.
