A family favorite hotel. We always stay here when visiting. My family have lived in listowel for years and this hotel and bar is the hub for meeting up and gathering together x Beautiful old building. Lots of character. Excellent accommodation - spotless inside with comfortable bed in quiet country location. First-class communications re instructions about the property plus useful information on pubs, restaurants, and buses etc. Mention also to McCarthy's Bar - 5mins walk. Very hospitable and friendly with lovely garden

The owner was extremely nice. Helped carry our bags, made sure we had the most comfortable stay as possible. It was a good value and breakfast was included. We were in a rush to get out that morning and the owner even made sure we got breakfast on time!

    We went primarily to tour the area including Ballybunion. Also for the Lartigue Monorail and museum in Listowel. A gem, and an important piece of transport heritage that is still relatively unknown in the UK. Great visit. The town is lively with good music in the pubs (especially Christy's). Lovely place!

    We have visited Listowel on many occasions before and find...

    We have visited Listowel on many occasions before and find it a pleasant market town with some nice shops and friendly locals. This holiday we spent more time in Ballybunnion and Tralee. Ballybunnion has a great beach and also a leisure centre with swimming pool which is easily accessible. Tralee is a big town with a great leisure centre like an indoor Aquapark and Kerry Museum and Siamsa Tire - National Folk Theatre for Ireland, that hosts cultural events and traditional Irish Dancing. Listowel is 10 minute drive, Ballybunnion is 15 minutes drive from Baker's Cross and Tralee is a half hour drive.

    Listowel is a lovely town with great outdoor recreational...

    Listowel is a lovely town with great outdoor recreational facilities and a strong history of celebrating literature and writers. It is a good base from high to explore northwest Kerry, from the Dingle Peninsula to Ballybunion and Foynes, where transatlantic flying boats used to land. For those unused to Irish roads and streets there are the challenges of driving on the left hand side and some tight turns and through ways, but that’s no different than driving anywhere in Ireland. I like the fact that it is not a town that gets inundated with tourists. The food at the Listowel Arms was excellent, as is the Horseshoe Bar. Woulfe’ s bookshop is worth a browse and the risk of leaving with several purchases. The greenway is a fabulous community resource.

    Beautiful town that has retained its character.

    Beautiful town that has retained its character. Friendly people great food & nightlife. Short stay so didn't get to explore hinterland. Lovely event in Arts centre, enjoyed Food fare, meal at Allo's, music at Mike the Pies and great Guinness and atmosphere in John B Keanes.

    Listowel has lots to do and see.

    Listowel has lots to do and see. We should have added another day to our two day stay. We met only lovely friendly welcoming locals, not one grumpy one among them. Tuesday night in JBKeanes pub theatre night was good fun. Get there early for seats.

    this is an old property with all the features that go with it, if you want modern this is not for you if you want something different then this ideally place within the town everything within walking distance, the shower was a power shower and better than any modern hotel i stayed in. Maurice was excellent in telling us where to go within the town.

    We were greeted by Noreen with a smile and some great local knowledge before our day at the races just across the road. Her property was spotless clean comfortable and served a fabulous breakfast each morning. Noreen knows her business inside out a lovely lady and I look forward to my next visit to beautiful Listowel.

    A lovely B&B . Clean and cosy. The owners are lovely. They really make you feel at home. Special thanks for the tea and hot water bottle. They called us a cab and recommend us a place where to have dinner in Listowel.
