The accommodation was modern, spotlessly clean and quiet. We ate food in the bar which was delicious freshly cooked and piping hot. The staff were helpful and approachable. The location is very central, within walking distance to the bus/train station. There is a public car parking facility at the rear of the accommodation which costs €2.00 a day. Make sure to have coins as the machine does not take cards.

My second stay here. Wish it was for longer! Hosts Amy + Craig extremely welcoming and go out of their way to maximize your stay. They provide tea, coffee and milk , although it is self-catering. Love the Twix bars too! Location is unique, quiet with excellent views. Never sleep as well as when I am here. I plan to always return here as it an oasis of calm and rest.

Our stay at Shannonside exceeded our expectations! David ensured we had everything we needed and was a fantastic host. The house is beautiful, very clean, comfortable and spacious. We were there to meet up with family so we didn't use many of the facilities that Longford has to offer. Limited range of good restaurants but lots of fast food places. Good central base to explore lots of Ireland.

This is a part of the country which I wouldn’t think of...

This is a part of the country which I wouldn’t think of exploring but I’m so glad I did. I was on my way to a wedding in Roscommon and we stayed in Longford which was within a half hour drive. It was lovely to be by the banks of the Shannon and I will certainly visit again. We ate in “The Purple Onion” and as we waited for our taxi to collect us the proprietor treated us to a nightcap on the house.

Very central location, good facilities, very clean and comfortable….everything you need for an enjoyable stay in Longford. Proprietor was accessible and provided up to date information and codes for entry when required. She was friendly and personable in her messages. We requested early check in due to weather conditions and thus was accommodated without any issue.

Everything. Fantastic small quiet B&B in the countryside just outside Longford town. Huge room and bathroom decorated exceptionally well. Everything you could want in a B&B. Great breakfast served by the owner Matt. Great price. If you have a designated driver, don't go near the sub standard (compared to here) and far more expensive places to stay in the area.
