It is best place to visit but in winters. Stay near city centre where all temples like Kashi Vishwanath are located, visit Ganga Ghats for aarti in the morning and evening and soak through the city vibes. I loved Ghats and especially Ganga Arti and all the mandirs there. Variety of food. Restraunts for every budget and taste bud. But getting around the city is a big headache. People going to Varanasi should opt to go first to Kaal Bhairav temple and then Daand Pani followed by Kashi Vishwanath temple and then followed by Durga Mandir,Hanuman Ji Mandir and Durga Mata Mandir. I visited Varanasi during the time of Maha Kumbh. It was heavy crowded at that time. I had never seen such heavy rush anywhere. The streets were full of public there was no cleanliness while going to the temple. Auto drivers and Car travel agents looted money we were charged 2 or 3 times to the normal fare.
