This review is only about Srirangam. Not aware of Tiruchirapalli. Lord Ranganatha's temple is marvelous. To have Vishwaroopa Darshanam, one should book online in advance. There are a lot of other 'Sannidhi's' within the main temple area. Did not visit other Shaivite temples. There is a reasonable hotel "Madapalli" wherein one can get a good breakfast consisting of idli, Vada, Dosa etc and also a nice south indian lunch. Not aware of any hotels serving North Indian or European cuisine. We had our own transportation. Using google one can travel all over. The roads are narrow but good. A must see place in India especially the Rockfort temple and the ancient Ranganatha Swamy temple. Wonderful temples all within a short distance.
Wonderful temples all within a short distance. Go early in the morning to see the beautiful prayers. Check out the bars in the evening for a cool beer and enjoy the complimentary snacks. Restaurants are plenty and the vegetarian food is amazing so are the Indian sweets. Head to Krishna Sweets. Do try out their local soft serve ice cream and chocolates. Head to Westside for comfortable cotton ladies Indian tops and pants. Grab is not reliable at all. The driver will call and quote you a higher price.
