What a wonderful place to stay! Perfect location for all the sights at the golden circle and a good starting point for the highlands (F35). The owners care a lot, even before you arrive, everything was very clean, I had a big bathroom. For this price the best guesthouse I stayed so far.

the restaurant is basic food but hearty and the view of the dairy cows adds so much to the whole experience. Their farm ice cream is sensational . the family room was very beautiful and more than enough space for 6 of us ( all adults) highly recommend farmstays in Iceland they are definitley the best way to experience this wonderful country

I have driven through on numerous occasions but never...

I have driven through on numerous occasions but never stopped. I was pleasantly surprised by the place. Lovely view of the lake adequate local facilities close by and only a half hour drive to Geyser and Gullfoss.

Laugarvatn is in an excellent location between the national...

Laugarvatn is in an excellent location between the national park to the west, and Geysir and Gulfoss Waterfall to the east. It has a beautiful view of the lake and the surrounding hills, a few restaurants, gas, and plenty of lodging.

Perfect place to stop off on your way around the Golden Circle. This was the night we saw the Northern Lights! (However would recommend driving out of the centre due to street lamps). The no-contact check-in and out was simple and easy. The bathroom was huge, with shower gels and towels provided. The hosts also provided a local Icelandic sweet to try, and there were simple facilities (kettle, teas, fridge). There's a grocery store down the road that is open fairly late for the location (7pm ish).

Charming cottage in the middle of the meadows with grazing sheep and singing birds. The cottage looks small from the outside but in fact it's a full-fledged hotel room of a good size with a fully equipped kitchenette and a comfortable bathroom. The cottage is nicely furnished, very clean. Would like to stay again.

The building is slightly elevated over the lake, and you can see all of the surroundings from there. Unlike all the samish looking new hotels, this place actually has character, and prides itself on its history as and old school. It retains the old country charm that makes Iceland so magical.

I was in doubt to post a review on this little gem as it may get overwhelmed with visitors when discovered by more people :) really a very very nice place to stay, the best of all our stays in iceland - we had the best northern lights from the foss visitor parking place right nextdoor
