The place is super quiet and close to a mountain, very relaxing. It was also easy and quick to do the checking. Just as a tip please bring some food before doing the checking, as you will need it there.

The hotel's design is very nice, restaurant's area has a beautiful view. The staff is very friendly and caring and the food is fresh and tasty. Rooms are clean and beds very comfy. The bathroom has a proper door. The parking is equipped with a charging station. Highly recommended hotel.

I only spent one night at Birkifell and in all honesty it was not enough. Birkifell is 100% pure charm and comfort. The cabin is small but comfortable and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was pretty much perfect. Coffee machine with coffee, stovetop, oven and microwave, fridge/freezer, cutlery, crockery and cookware. The beds are so comfortable and warm. I slept amazingly well. And now what is truly wow. Hot tub on the verandah with clear, unobstructed views of the sky which was crystal clear. The hot tub was hot, comfortable and clean. The only sound to be heard was me. I have never experienced such quiet and stillness before. It was invigorating. I was sad to have to leave Birkifell but when I come back to Iceland, Birkifell will be my must stay again. I love everything about Birkifell.

Big room and confortable bed. Book the room facing the glacier, the price is worth it. A little far from restaurants and shops, but tottaly worth it for the peace and quiet. They have breakfast and dinner available. There is a coffee station by the entrance but no one was changing and puting new coffee, so coffee was cold from the day before already. When you come to the room you feel there is something missing there, the room is so big and it only has a small table and 2 chairs. Big part of the wall is just empty. I think these rooms deserve a resting chair or a little sofa with a coffee table :) Nice and helpful staff at the reception. It was a really nice stay! 1h away from the Glacier Lagoon!

Everything was great except few small details but overall we enjoyed our stay. Waffles at breakfast were a highlight! Staff was also super helpful! Hot tubs were nice, we even spotted the Aurora.

We loved this guesthouse! The spa- brilliant!! The host had it already ready for us and post dinner we all went in! We attempted to fit 4 people in but honestly it was only most comfortable with two so we rotated. We used the oven- brillant. The shower was good too and the bed was comfy!

This was our best experience with staying in Iceland, we definitely would like to come back again. Everything was really amazing - hosts were very welcoming and friendly, the room was so lovely prepared, kitchen was good equipped, everything was clean and nice, breakfast was great! We felt like being in some friends or relatives house, not just in a guesthouse. We really enjoyed our stay in Holmur and highly recommend it to others.
