A cute hotel in a little village. We had an awesome stay and the people working there were really friendly. We had a laugh with the girl at the reception and she helped us figure out what we could do around the village. She was really helpful. There was also a cafe on the other side of the road which was owned by the people of the hotel, so we spent the evenings there. It had a nice vibe. Near the cafe was a guesthouse (Taergesen) also owned by them. The girl from the reception gave us a tour of the guesthouse and it was really cosy and sweet. Next time we might try that :) Finally there was breakfast included in the hotel and we had a big choice of food. We could eat as much as we wanted, so everyday we started with a good meal. Our stay was Austur in Reydarfjordur was one of our favourites. Such another life than the one we are used to. Felt like you were in another world.

The perfect place to stay for those who like convenience and simplicity on their travels.

The hotel is located on the fjord, the view from the windows unforgettable. Room very comfortable and bigger than I expected, beds very comfortable. From the hotel there is an underground passage to the restaurant, very interesting, with wax figures representing history. The restaurant where breakfast was served was beautiful, with a terrace facing the pier overlooking the fjord. The breakfast was very good, fresh local produce and finally bread that is not "toast" :)

This place really has it all! It is better than the pictures. On a small peninsula in the fjord you are surrounded by beautiful views of the sea, the mountains, the village and the fishing boats. The cabins are spacious, comfortable, cosy and fully equipped. It has a nice hottub amidst the wonderful scenery. It offers free of charge laundry service (which is very uncommon in Iceland). Only a minute away from the cabins there is a great restaurant with local delicacies in an old traditional fisherman’s shed of which the upper floor is untouched since the 1930s and which you can visit. The village is also nice and has playgrounds, a pool etc. for children to enjoy. Even the polar foxes liked the place as we caught one wondering around the premises ;).

Elsa is an excellent host! Rooms are very quiet, clean and cozy, equipped with tv and beautiful window views overlooking the green area around. Honestly, if I’m back in Iceland I’ll make sure to make a stop. Also, after I accidentally left my glasses at the accommodation Elsa kindly coordinated with other guests to help me get them back. Forever grateful for her patience and help throughout!

We booked for two nights and wished we could have stayed much longer. This place is a true gem! The host was very kind, professional and gave us plenty of local tips, wonderful! The cabin was incredibly cosy, surrounded by beautiful woods and incredible organic food from the farm. The location is perfectly situated to visit East Fjords of Iceland. We were on a road trip for our honeymoon and stayed across multiple accommodations, this was by far our favourite.
