The location was great, close to Vik, beach access and sight seeing. The hotel only has a few rooms so it has a boutique hotel feel where the staff are friendly and accommodating. The property was clean, breakfast was great and our room had an exterior door which was convenient for bringing bags in.

Having to 'get around Ring Road' definitely has its drawbacks. The biggest one we found was when you found a great place, your time there was limited. We did stop for the Lava Show in Vik, which was great, and we had dinner there as well. There was not enough time to really see everything before having to move on.

Vik is a small town on the coast mostly supporting the tourist industry. Like most of Iceland, beautiful scenery and views all around. Great launching point to national parks and stay over if going east or west.

We came out to hike a glacier, see a few waterfalls, walk the beaches and then go to Westman Islands. We did all of this in 24 hours and this was not nearly enough. Really needed more time in each place and should have stayed an extra night to go explore a little further east!!

A lovely change from Reykjavik and surrounds. Beautiful scenery and more tranquil, although still lots of tourists. We did the Katla Ice Cave trip which was really interesting. About 2.5 hours drive from Reykjavik but worth it.

I stayed there for two nights when one would’ve more than sufficed. Other than walking on the beach or hiking up to the church, there really wasn’t much to do there except go to expensive restaurants. They did have a nice big grocery store there that was in a small complex that included the Icewear store.(the Icelandic clothing line)

The Volcano Hotel is just outside of Vik. A good spot to see Northern Lights as it's setback from the Road. It was quiet and the buffet breakfast was convenient in the communal dining area. The tables were plentiful and clean. A person was onsite and they were efficient at restocking breakfast offerings. I think the hotel was pricey (as all things in Iceland are). We paid $206 for one night - November 6, 2023. Other than that, it met our needs for a one night stay.

The room was clean and location worked out for us. Check in has to be done at the nearby hotel and the staff was quite helpful. Even though we had paid in advance they still asked for a credit card although no withdrawals were made. This was never requested by any of the other accommodations during our holiday in Iceland.

Friendly check in guy that was covering for the receptionist. Offered local advice on restaurants which was very helpful. The place in handy for everything since Vik is another small town in Iceland, which was very nice and some great new restaurants/ bars opened a 10minute walk away. Would recommend to others.

This was a lovely hotel!! REally clean and one of the only 'family rooms' we found in Iceland - it was a great size and a really comfortable room. Lovely and clean, bathroom was a good size and the hotel was nice and quiet. We loved the breakfast too - lots of options and dietary flexibility too.
