Incredible place, far from civilisation, yet very comfortable. You have to drive at least 30 km on F-road (no tarmac) to get there so in case you hire your car, make sure it is allowed to go there. Nearest shop or gas station is over 50 km away, so plan accordingly. You will be rewarded with really amazing surrounding (waterfall included, a must see), absolute silence and a break from noisy crowds. The staff was wonderful, very friendly, helpful and caring. We also tried the dinner and although the choice is (understandably) a bit limited, all food that we had was simply delicious. Wifi was good. Beds were comfortable and the rooms clean. The rooms have no refrigerators but the staff offered to store our food in theirs. You can use an outside hot water bathtub free of charge. This place is certainly not for everyone but if you enjoy solitude far from crowds and unspoiled nature, Vogur is definitely one to recommend.

The reception was warm welcoming. We had the most beautiful view of the harbour from our room. Fantastic restaurant just around the corner, walking distance from the Hotel.

Everything about this guesthouse is amazing! The entire place has a great view on the water, it is very calm and peaceful and the place is beautifully decorated! The shared bathroom was great and clean, the kitchen very well equipped and the eating area has a great view! Hubert is an extraordinary person and he made sure we had everything we needed during our stay! He definitely made our time there even better! We had the most amazing time there and would absolutely recommend staying there!

Luxury beds and power showers are offered at Hótel Egilsen. Baldur Ferry Terminal and boats to the West Fjords and Flatey island are 300 metres away. Wi-Fi is free.

We were on a 2-week trip in Iceland for my hubby's 50th birthday and this was his favourite place. I don't think they knew it was his birthday but they treated us better than anywhere else. It is an impeccably-furnished, totally gorgeous historical guesthouse with wonderful staff, food and warmth. Our room was small but perfect and breakfast was delicious. The town itself is really lovely. Make sure you pre-book Sjavarpakkhusid (kind of opposite) restaurant for dinner - it was also glorious (see photos). Thanks for making this such a special stop on our Icelandic journey!

Amazing cabin in beautiful location. There are only 3 cabins set up in this location next to a small lake in front, the place is very peaceful and serene. Our cabin has everything we needed to cook a delicious meal after our long day of exploring; the bed and sofa bed were comfortable. The home was tastefully decorated and the owner was very friendly . We loved everything about our stay here and would definitely return!
