I don’t have much to say except that it was very very crowded and ranking Public transportation was a nightmare. I would not recommend going there in the tourist season. It was well located as far a water transportation was concerned. Take a boat trip a long the coast or the traghetto to Capri. Great base for visiting other villages along the coast. Pretty town with plenty of small shops for gifts and ceramics. Wide range of restaurants, busy ones on the central square and secluded ones up steps and in alleys - all full of character. Limited suppplies for apartment cooking so we had to eat out for all meals but prices the same as UK. La Perla restaurant made excellent gluten free pizza! The accommodation and ability to access great day trips (Pompeii, walking the path of the Gods, visit other towns along the coast, cookery course etc) was brilliant and made for a great holiday. We did find that the whole coast was packed with tourists and when the cruise ships came in, this was much worse. The steps everywhere were a challenge. The biggest disappointment was the huge amount of tourists. It was like visiting a festival or Disneyland. There were a couple restaurants that were quite good. My adult daughter enjoyed her hikes; one in Amalfi behind cemetery & other in Altara(?). I'm sure it's easy to get around without the maddening crowd; but it was a turnoff upon arrival to face this, so unexpected. I was there to try and find some information on descendants, but man in office wouldn't help me, kept saying "no capice," and shooed me out of there.Guest review byPLW

The view is insane! Better than in the pictures. The property is well laid out, clean and lots of room for a family of 4. There are steps to the property, I'm told 180, but if you’re going to the Amalfi coast then expect steps everywhere. The steps weren’t an issue for me and my family, some whinging from the kids. It is reachable from Amalfi Port by bus and taxi within minutes. I have to explicitly mention that the host is so helpful and responsive. He helped us in every step of our trip.
