The hotel was beautiful, well kept and spotlessly clean. The pool and cabanas were perfect for us as a young family. We had a family room which was spacious, with two double bedrooms and a bathroom. The wardrobes even came equipped with child hangers. I felt that a great amount of thought had gone into every part of our stay.

There isn’t much to see in Avola but the beach is great (golden sand) so it’s a good location for relaxing. Great seafood restaurants and our favourite was Portomatto. This is a special, classy restaurant with very reasonable prices. Great for both seafood and high quality pizza. I also recommend the shop Assennato for great wines and other tasty produce (like nuts, olive oil, Modica chocolate nuts, honey and more).

Avola itself was a nice place but so much more to discover in sicily. Mount etna was amazing and there are some wonderful sicilian cities awaiting discovery. A car is a must to truly appreciate everything

Avola is lovely, not as touristy as other towns.

Avola is lovely, not as touristy as other towns. We stayed at a villa a few miles from the city center. If you do not have a car, be prepared to pay at least €20 each way to get to the bus or train station and back. It was worth it for us to avoid driving in the chaotic traffic. We did a boat excursion from Avola (Sicily Boat Tours) and it was wonderful. Would have loved to stay longer and explore more.

Lovely little town. with separate beach area couple of miles from centre. centre is quite old with lovely layout of old churches and large piazzas. Lots of locals out at night with families. great cafes - just felt very authentic.

Avola is a good base for visiting the nearby natural reserves and the city of Noto. The city itself has a nice beach and some good restaurants. The city centre is nice to go for the evening - looks better during the night than during the day.

We've been to Avola multiple times in the last few years.

We've been to Avola multiple times in the last few years. It's a nice quaint town with friendly people and easy to reach beaches. Has a couple of squares with nice restaurants, beautiful old buildings and ice cream / pastry shops and lovely atmosphere (music, people dancing) in the evening. Unfortunately in the recent visits we found the town a bit ran down and except for the center and a few touristy spots a bit dirty (lots of trash on the street, from construction sites, food leftovers, ...). Hopefully it'll improve now that tourism is back to full capacity.

I recommend the accommodation to everyone who is looking for peace. The sandy beach, sunbeds, toilets, food, drinks are a 10-minute walk away. The center of Avola is 10 minutes by car. Catania and Siracusa can be reached within 1 hour. the accommodation is very clean, tidy and spacious, everything is provided for cooking and relaxing. you can also park with your car inside. the owner Sebastiano and his wife were very nice and helpful in everything. we had a great time, if you want to relax after a tiring, busy day, this is your place!

Villa Ammari is a fantastic place to visit. The hosts are very nice and helpful. You are welcomed with the wine and a basket of pleasant surprises. The house has all you would need during vacation time - from beach towels to swimming equipment. All bedrooms have separate AC. The location is also great - just next to the peaceful and quite lonely and clean sand beach outside of more crowly Avola. The water is warm and not very deep which allows great swimming experience.

A fabulous little countryside Sicilian retreat! We had great service and such friendly hospitality. It was truly a pleasure to stay here. Hotel is very new, so expect a few things to be tested out for the first time when you ask for things etc. but really no issues with that!
