Manfredonia is a town with a pleasant sea port area that is popular with the locals and holidaymakers for evening eating, drinking and the "passegiata". This part of the Gargano peninsular is popular with the Italians for its (in my opinion) awful bathing beaches. Not too much else to do. However, from Manfredonia you can make a trip up an incredible winding road to Mont S'Angelo — a town with an ancient pilgrimage cathedral and castle, commanding a magnificent view of the bay. We got there by the local service bus (try Google maps for the latest timetable) but this is tricky without Italian. Manfredonia also has a Michelin guide restaurant — Osteria Boccolicchio — where we had an excellent lunch for a relatively reasonable price.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 6.0

The City has a beautiful historical center. Nice stores and restaurants. During summer time is very busy and hot. If you are looking for a magical special weekend for two or family, this in not the perfect place. The local beach is completely booked and all beach clubs don't have space for everybody. Manfredonia is geographically positioned on a flat surface with no trees and mountains. Summer can be very hot and humid even at night. No fresh breeze .Guest review byFabiana - 10.0

Nice walk along the promenade (about 1 mile), to the marina and into the town. Lots of places to eat and drink although not used as the hotel restaurant was superb. Easy parking and access with excellent staff, one of whom escorted us to a much needed car wash. Great place to use as a base for visiting the nature reserve and Monte S. The boat is relatively new and was very clean. The marina is surrounded by cafes, bars and simple restaurants. A simple Italian breakfast is included and is served at one of these cafes.
